Prior to entering the master’s program, it is helpful to have taken classes in biology, anatomy, and psychology. Working with other people is also an important skill. Occupational therapists often work with more than just their patients. They also work with family members and other therapists. By working as part of a team, they are able to address all of the patient’s issues instead of just a single part. Another part of working with the whole patient is being able to adapt to different settings.
