A hiatal hernia is an individual movement of the stomach part in the chest cavity. The stomach will press up via a small hole that is present in the diaphragm muscle. The diaphragm is a kind of muscular wall that differentiates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity from the chest cavity. This can happen to anyone including pregnant woman. Some of the patients do not show any of the symptoms and they lead a normal life.

How the diagnosis of hernia is done
The doctors will first talk to you about your symptoms. They will also check up your medical history first. The doctor will do the regular check-up. The doctor may also take image of the abdomen. Some women may alsohave hiatal hernia during pregnancy. In such cases the doctors may get the best treatmentthat is safe for the woman and the baby as well.

Treatment of hernia
The doctor will get you the best treatment plan. A hital hernia can be treated as per the symptoms. Doctor may tell you some diet plan or even may tell you to lose your weight. If you have a habit of smoking, then the doctor may tell you to quit that first. Doctor will also recommend you a few exercises that can help you to reduce the weight and stay fit. They may also tell you to take a few antacids. The doctor may also give you some medicines that you can get over the counter. You need to take the medicines on regular basis.

When the Surgery is required
If required, the doctor may tell you to go for the surgery. If you have some intense symptoms and if the medication is not enough, you will need to do the surgery. The doctors may tell you to get a few tests done before the surgery. After seeing the testresults, they can conclude about the surgery that has to be done for you. If you have abdomen pain or any other symptoms, then go to the doctor and confirm.
