Kundalini yoga can be defined as a technology whereby it is practiced to develop awareness, strength, character and consciousness. Based on active and passive asanas kriyas, meditations and pranayama; the technology target entire body system to develop spiritual strength and consciousness. Through this article, readers would come to know about different aspects of the said yoga which has been gaining attention among enthusiasts to gain physical and mental strength. History Yoga-Kundalini Upanishad is one of the earliest known scriptures of Hinduism originated from India. Adding to it, it has been found that In 1935 Sri Swami Sivananda penned a detailed depiction of some of the well known yoga practices as Kundalini yoga. Three different streams reflect the teachings of yoga including the Nath tradition, the Sant tradition and the Bhakti tradition. In the West, the practices were first practiced or taught by Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D., in 1969. He realized that Americans experimenting with drugs and other lifestyles needed something useful to quench their inner thirst. Basic components rnThe said yoga is practiced by considering different aspects including breathing, stretching meditation, sound & rhythm and movement. Moreover, main components include breathing, breath & movement, mudras, mantra and chakras. The energy delivery system is breathing which is actually a life force. It is called as "Tender charge of the Divine" by Yogi Bhajan. In a sophisticated manner, the science of breath is used in the practices. Long Deep Breathing along with Segmented Breathing, Breath of Fire and Rhythmic Breathing are the commonly used breaths with movement in it. Benefits of all these breaths are many like they support synchronization of internal workings of body as well as mind, oxygenate the blood & purifies lungs, optimum brain wave balance, protection against electro-magnetic pollution and much more. Process of Kundalini The process of Kundalini yoga is known to deliver individuals to our higher potential with various balances and checks in it. Beginners in the start may suffer certain minor problems like light-headedness, trembling in postures, etc. The main purpose of the yoga is to maintain higher consciousness. This is actually an exercise that lasts a lifetime and a lot of emphasis is laid by the fitness clubs to make the practices simple for individuals. Majority of the physical postures include navel activity, selective pressurization of body points & meridians and activity of the spine. Thus, by taking help of fitness club under guidance and advices of experts, one can attain personal spiritual growth.
