The holidays are here! Ready? Frankly, I’m not ready. This time of year usually sneaks up on me. Regardless if you’re prepared or not, the holidays have arrived and soon we’ll be shouting: “Happy New Year” and contemplating new year’s resolutions. Instead of waiting for how you’ll begin the next year, how will you end the present one?

Let’s set some goals. Uh oh… I can feel you backing away from the computer.. Don’t worry, goal setting doesn’t have to be so serious. Certainly pour yourself some tea, a glass of wine, or contemplate this on a walk. Make it fun. Set aside a part of your day this weekend and think how you’d like to end this year. Whether this past year was a good or a difficult one, presently, you can still finish strong.

Prioritize a goal list based upon what you’d like to complete before the end of the year and what you must complete. You have 5 1/2 weeks left until 2019. Is there a charity that you’d like to support or something else you’d like to accomplish? Our country has certainly experienced its fair share of tragedies recently and we all can contribute something - money, goods, or time.

When writing your goals, there are 5 great tips towards achieving them. They should be specific. For example, if you want to spend more time exercising, what type of exercise exactly? A charity you’d like to support? Which one? Is this goal meaningful/motivational for you? Then lastly ask yourself if it’s achievable, rewarding and trackable (time-wise). If so, these are good goals and you can get them done!

The holidays can feel overwhelming, but if we visualize, prepare and set doable goals, the race towards the end of the year will be a successful finish.

Take care of yourselves and each other.

Science is, at its core, a process—a framework for testing questions about the world with detailed and structured observations of it to gain knowledge and understanding. Contrary to what some may believe, the scientific process has always been a universal one, accessible to the common people, even if the largest and most newsworthy discoveries are usually left to those with greater time and resources. However, with modern technologies like AI, that reality is primed for rad

Find joy As a couples coach, I often encounter couples who are trapped in unhelpful communication and behavior patterns. rnThey deeply long for change but lack the concrete tools and insight needed to break the negative spiral. rnMy experience shows that even the most ingrained problems can be solved when the couple is motivated and willing to learn new strategies.
