Homeschooling -- An Effective Schooling

Homeschooling is seen as convenient form schooling, where parents become teachers. The child is allowed to educate at the leisure of his home with all love and support from his parents however sometimes a tutor is also hired for home schooling.

But is homeschooling really effective? Several objections are raised for homeschooling. However everything in the world has its pros and cons, traditional format schooling has it and same is the case with homeschooling. However I feel with certain simple measures homeschooling can be as effective as traditional format schooling.

The prime con in homeschooling is the socialization problem. Training makes man perfect; a child is unconsciously trained in the school for certain things like discipline, table manners, standing in the queue or waiting for the turns. Many argue that a homeschooled children lack in the above mentioned habits however my friend Stella was homeschooled by her parents but she is better behaved and cultured than other person from traditional format school. So I think the socialization process depends on parents and their upbringing process.
Many people object on the academic qualification of those who are homeschooled. Thus those who wish to practice homeschooling for their children should never underestimate themselves as a teacher; parent are the best teachers for their children as no teacher can know your child’s so closely as you know, however for higher education and special subjects tutors are available. My friend Natiala is a graduated with me from American University and was a bright student despite she has done homeschooling, this proves the homeschooled children get easy admission in the colleges and can prove good student on their interpersonal skills. A child that is homeschooled has 24 hours parent’s attention this enhances his personal growth gauging his positive and negative points and improving them.
While talking about traditional format schooling let me clear that homeschooling is basically traditional format schooling. Homeschooling is basically the format of schooling done in biblical times. The great men of America like Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Edison have done homeschooling. Thus homeschooling is not a new or unacceptable concept.

Parents know what is best for their kids so they can definitely understand the best time to test their ability, thus exams becomes stress free for homeschooled kids. On the contrary schooling normally makes children bookish; mugging is a part of school life however mugging seldom help in school life. Mugging is like filling your heads with information and emptying it on exam paper. Homeschooling on the other hand makes children open to learning and education, they learn the concepts not just as the part of the curriculum but as the part of the life.

Nothing on the earth is perfect yet efforts can be made to make them perfect. Homeschooling has its pros and cons however a dedicated parent can definitely work on the education of child in order to make him capable to withstand in the competitive world. Homeschooling has given us great personalities like Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Edison, it depends how education is looked upon, just a medium to acquire a good job or a medium responsible for the growth and progress of our personality as a whole.
