Honeymark - Manuka Honey Products
The following is a review of four Manuka Honey products manufactured by Honeymark International.
Manuka Honey is a special type of honey that has been found to have very powerful healing properties. In some cases, Manuka Honey has even been proven to be more effective than antibiotics and other traditional forms of medicine. Most skin conditions are caused by bacteria and other microbes. Because Manuka Honey contains extremely powerful antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, it is now being considered a viable solution to many health conditions. In addition to its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, Manuka Honey also has natural antioxidant, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties, making it an amazing natural resource. It is also important to know that Manuka Honey has been found to have no negative side effects when used for medical purposes. Active Manuka Honey with a UMF rating of 10+ is a main ingredient in all Honeymark products.
Anti-Itch Cream: This product is effective in treating eczema, psoriasis and other forms or dermatitis. Relieving the itching sensation associated with these conditions is only a small portion of what the product is capable of doing. The Manuka Honey repairs damaged skin tissue and generates new, healthy skin growth. There has been documented evidence indicating that Manuka Honey is extremely effective in healing the dry blotches associated with eczema and psoriasis. This product is also effective in treating insect bites, insect stings, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, rashes and other skin irritations. Honeymark's Anti-Itch cream also contains hydrocortisone which helps to alleviate itching.
Pain Relief Cream: Unlike many other healing substances, Manuka Honey has the ability to diffuse deep into the depths of skin tissue getting to affected areas. In addition, Manuka Honey has anti-inflammatory properties that are effective in relieving pain. This product is for arthritis and other types of muscle or joint pain. In addition to Manuka Honey, it also contains other pain relieving ingredients such as menthol, Emu oil and almond oil.
First Aid Antiseptic Lotion: Wound care is Manuka Honey's main claim to fame. Bacteria feed off of the damaged tissue in a wound, infecting it and making it difficult to heal. It has been reported that there are no types of bacteria that can survive if Manuka Honey is present. This is because Manuka Honey is extremely acidic and has a high concentration of sugar. Bacteria cannot survive in this type of environment. Manuka Honey also has the ability to draw water out of bacteria, making it impossible for the bacteria to survive. Manuka Honey is so effective in destroying bacteria that it is even effective in treating Staph infections and killing the superbugs associated with MRSA. Other advantages of using a wound dressing containing Manuka Honey is that it creates a moist barrier around the wound that lifts scabs off the surface of the skin, eliminating the possibility of scaring while the anti-inflammatory properties of Manuka Honey eliminates pain. In more serious wounds, Manuka Honey has even been known to eliminate malodor. It is believed that the microorganisms present in the wound give off better smelling gases after feeding on the Manuka Honey. Honeymark's First Aid Antiseptic Lotion also contains benzalkonium chloride which is an FDA approved antiseptic.
Anti-Fungal Solutions: As indicated above, Manuka Honey has natural antifungal properties that make this product effective in treating ringworm and other fungal conditions such as athlete's foot, jock itch and nail fungus. In addition to the Manuka Honey, this product also contains tolnaftate which is also effective in treating fungal conditions.
"In addition to our line of health care products, Honeymark plans to introduce a cosmetic line later this year," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Our cosmetic line will include a shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer and an Anti-Aging Serum, all containing Manuka Honey."nnn
