Hostgator is a web hosting company that provides a handful of other data based services including Virtual Private Server access, dedicated server access, and reseller programs. I can't really comment on any other services of theirs as the web hosting plan is all that I've tried because it's all that I've needed. I've been on the baby web hosting plan which is the “Goldilocks” plan, the one that's in the middle and just right. I've been on this account for two years now and I have nothing but positive things to say about Hostgator's services. For BeginnersrnIf you have been curious about starting a website or blog, whether you're looking to make money or just have some fun selecting a web host provider can be a tricky bit of business. There are so many different providers to choose from. And trust me, I did my research before signing up for Hostgator and they were the obvious choice. They offer so many extras that make starting up a new website so simple that even a complete novice could get a website up and running. Honestly when it comes to good websites most of it is based on the concept, the other half is translating that concept into something that can be put on the internet. With Hostgator's web hosting services concepts become reality for novices who have an idea but have no clue how to put together a website. With a site builder, 24/7 support, Wordpress, and templates; everything you would need to start is right here all that needs to be added is content. For Intermediate UsersrnAfter getting the hang of how a website is built and operated most people will naturally try to tweak certain settings. In other words it's time to turn the system off of autopilot and decide how you want to get to your destination. With Hostgator's Baby plan this is just the case, you have a lot of freedom to make the web pages you want as well as manage more than one website or blog. Also the baby plan has unlimited add on or parked domains which makes expanding much simpler. If you ever run into problems it's easy enough to contact them through chat or through a toll free number and they will assist you quickly. ReliabilityrnOne thing I really like about Hostgator is that when they say that their servers have 99.9% up time, they mean it. It was very seldom that my websites ever had an error code or were hard to access (most of the times there was an error it was my connection's fault). It is extremely important for a site to be accessible as much as possible, reliability is a major concern when managing a website. No matter how good your content is visitors won't keep coming back if your site is hard to access or is slow loading. Eco FriendlyrnOne more thing that I based my decision to select Hostgator's web hosting service is because they power all their data centers with renewable energy. Now, I'm not a complete hippie, but I think that small decisions that help the planet here and there are a step in the right direction. With Hostgator web hosting being eco-friendly your site can bear that badge and possibly garner better visitors due to it.
