How AI is Granting Us a Better Future

The day starts like most others. A glass of orange juice pairs nicely with some peanut butter and a banana on toast. With the advent of AI, this is where the story begins to diverge. You may be able to say, “Have a good day at work, Dad” or you may have to leave a slightly emptier house. If Dad is a welder, volunteer fireman, search and rescue responder, lumberjack, etc. the odds that he will be protected or saved by AI over the course of five years is high. Artificial intelligence may seem to be the enemy of the everyday worker, but AI will be moving into the jobs that people need to avoid. No one grows up wanting to remove landmines. Every person that spends a moment or two thinking about it hopes for all the undetonated landmines to be gone, but the tradeoff is risking your health to accomplish it. AI will allow us to avoid endangering the operator because now the human will work from somewhere that is not the minefield. Either by engineering the machines or fixing broken ones, the same individual can be employed but remain safe. After school is another split from our two possibly futures. Either we think about nana or we actually have the opportunity to visit her. Thanks to the doctors’ office using AI to analyzernher symptoms, they determined that she had pancreatic cancer. Fortunately, it was caught as Stage I. Being aware of cancer symptoms early has improved the life expectancy of patients in oncology departments across the country. Doctors not only can save more patients, but they save themselves. Think about how many more people will maintain healthy lives when they are not forced to work around the clock at peak mental ability. Medical professionals will have some of their mundane tasks covered by artificial intelligence, thus allowing them to focus their efforts onto offering support and compassion. Human interaction is something special, so for every job that has menial or repetitive work being covered by AI, another job will need more focus. Therapists and mental health professionals will be in the same demand as the more commonly predicted engineers needed to repair and maintain electronics. Getting to and from school is safer as well. Over the next five years, AI will be meandering their way into the transport system of cities and towns across the country. Artificial intelligence has improved the safety on the roads ten-fold because AI will never get tired, check their phone, or drive under the influence. It will probably be more than five years before the roads are exclusively governed by artificial intelligence, but the cumulative impact from each automotive enhancement should be noticeable. Every car that has the added brain of a computer assisting the driver will be safer than one without. Five years can fly by, but when it comes to technological advancements, that is rarely reality. The world will change a lot in the next five years. Probably more than I, or anyone else can predict. Though the one thing we can believe with certainty is that artificial intelligence is going to contribute to the world being a safer place for everyone.
