How Can Students Help Stop School Violence

Chintu is just ten years old now and is studying in the fourth standard. Despite being so young, he is famous in his colony and neighborhood for his act of bravery. This little boy saved a life when he was just nine year old. He was in class three that time when he saw some young students of his school harassing a new student. It was the winter season and the school bell announced the end of the school session for the day. When everyone is running towards the school gate, Chintu was in the washroom. When he came out of the washroom and was walking towards the school gate, he saw some young students talking to a little boy in the balcony.

He heard them using slang words and the little boy was crying. Little Chintu understood that something wrong was happening there and in response tried to save the boy. But the young students threatened Chintu not to open his mouth and told him to go away. Though Chintu was afraid, he went to one of the teachers and related everything. Believing Chintu’s words, the teacher took prompt action and saved the little boy from the company of the evil minded students. It was the bravery and strong willingness of Chintu that saved the little boy from being bullied by other students.

In this 21st century, along with the advancements in different fields, the crime rate is also rapidly increasing. School crime has become a major issue for any nation to address as soon as possible. All the evil forces that are working in the world, target the school students first. Students are innocent and thus it is very easy to manipulate them; it is the basic reason that different illegal activities are making the students its first target. Not only does it became a major issue of conce
for the teachers and the parents, but for a nation also to grow and develop. Apart from the outside forces, the student force needs to stand up to fight with the evil of school crime. Being parents and teachers, we should teach our children to stand up for what is right and justifiable.

Below are some of the things that a student can do to contribute in helping out to stop school violence:-

• Support one another- Students are, by nature, supportive. This supportiveness turns out to be a positive weapon for students to fight against any sort of illegal activities that they come through inside the school.

• Never make another student feel isolated- A research study shows that students who have no or less friends, easily become victims of violent behavior. So students should always try to be with each other and develop a strong bond among themselves.

• Seek professional help whenever needed- In many cases students fails to get away of the threat that they are facing, in such cases they should seek professional help so that they can get rid of the upcoming danger.

• Don’t hide- if students notice any illegal activity is taking place inside the school, they should immediately inform the school authorities regarding it. This can help in maintaining a healthy environment in the school.

By following and putting into practice the above steps, students can contribute a lot in preventing school violence.
