Just make sure that the counselors you are conferring with understand the problem and they have already managed similar case. Show them that you care and you are always there beside him. Try to do some interesting activities together but remember to remind the person to not continue similar bad regular routines. Help them to manage themselves and show them that there are rooms for change. But let them feel that you are always there to support them. Coping up with OCD people can be challenging most especially if it’s your first time to experience this matter. The questions here are, can you handle it emotionally and physically? Are you ready to face the consequences and possibilities? And lastly, are you willing to sacrifice your own pride for the person who suffers from it and is very important to you? How can you’ll be able to manage the situation will all depends on how you care a lot to a person who is experiencing this illness. And if you are not ready to get into it, there is nothing wrong to move on and accept that this is more that you are not prepared to deal with. Just do what you think is right.
