We've all heard of the phrase 'beauty comes from within', but what does it actually mean?

Well, since I got my Diploma in Anti Aging Therapy and became a qualified Anti Aging Therapist, I now feel competent enough to tell you.

I must admit that when I first started my Anti Aging course I thought I was going to learn about all the different types of wrinkle creams and serums and their ingredients. But I was totally wrong.

The first two lessons were on physiology in the sense that I was learning about the skin layers and the skin tissues and cells and how they work etc. This was quite hard going as I was never great at Biology at school, but nevertheless, I found it very intriguing.

The next assignments were about how we age and get wrinkles from an internal and exte
al point of view. I also (kind of) knew that smoking and the sun played roles in damaging our skin and giving us wrinkles, but I did not realise to what extent!

The other assignments were about treating anti aging from the inside first and then on the outside second. This again was very intriguing. I learnt about free radicals and how they damage your internal skin cells, but then learnt how to disrupt and destroy free radical by consuming antioxidants in abundance.

I leant which mineral and vitamin supplements to take in order to tackle aging aging and wrinkles, again from the inside. I then learnt how to protect yourself from aging from exte
al environmental matters (the sun and other pollutants) and then lastly, how to repair aged and wrinkled skin from the outside – but not with wrinkle creams.

Beauty From Within

Since this article is titled' Beauty from Within', I'll go over that a bit more here.

If you want to slow down the aging process and keep wrinkles at bay, then you need to do a lot more than putting on some wrinkle cream and having the occasional facial at the local spa. I've briefly mentioned above that free radical destroy our skin cell tissues which ages our skin and gives it fine lines and wrinkles.

So wouldn't it make sense to stop these damaging free radicals in the first place? Of course it would. We can do this by a several methods:

1) We can eat high antioxidant foods to combat and tackle free radicals. Such foods are lots of vegetables (especially greens), fruits, berries and red wine being the most abundant with antioxidants;

2) Consuming Vitamins C & E which work in unison together to tackle free radicals from different parts of the cells;

3) To eat a diet consisting of 60% of raw food per day. Eating raw food, mainly fruits and salads, are one of the keys to slowing down the aging process. If you are overweight, then you will certainly lose weight fast in addition to preserving a healthy skin and lifestyle.
