Modern science has been talking about evolution and its many aspects ever since Charles Darwin published his paradigm altering book On the Origin of Species in 1859. In this book, he has talked about how living beings evolve over time by the process of natural selection. One of the most important conclusions he has presented in this book is the fact that humans are the most evolved species on the planet Earth and as such hold more power than any other life form. This means that by the very virtue of being born in the human body, we are immensely favoured by Nature and are therefore more likely to succeed in our goals than other living beings. But what does this mean from a spiritual point of view? rnIn order to answer this, one must first understand that the ultimate goal of spiritual development is Moksha (liberation of the Soul from the cycle of birth and death). This cycle is inherently full of pain and suffering, and involves a lot of bondage. Every being, at some point or another, realises this and seeks to find an escape. But until there exists any form of karmic give and take, this escape is impossible. It is only when there is not a single karma pending in one’s account, that liberation is possible. And here again, evolution favours humans. The path of Akram Vignan, as expounded by Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan, states that human beings are the only form of life capable of attaining liberation. While we can bind and experience the effect of karmas in any life form, it is only in the human body that we can stop the binding of new karmas which eventually leads to Moksha: “The human life form exclusively holds the right to liberation. If one gets a human life form and is blessed to obtain the means and circumstances congenial to liberation, then his liberation will occur.” -Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan So, what are these ‘means and circumstances’? rnThey refer to the achievement of Self-realization - the true knowledge of the Self; the understanding that one is nothing but a Pure Soul. It is this Knowledge that has the power to separate the Self and the non-Self, the internal and the external such that the process of binding new karma stops altogether. Eventually over time, the seeds of the karma sown previously shall bear fruit and disappear, and the being will be completely freed from all karmic bondage. This is the very state of liberation! Now, one can only receive this Knowledge form someone who has already attained Self-Realization. Only such Gnanis can light the path that we must walk on and guide us along that way too. In the present times, Akram Vignan has provided the living link to the knowledge of the Self through the medium of Gnani Purush Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan, Atmagnani Pujya Niruma and Atmagnani Pujya Deepakbhai. This is the knowledge of the Tirthankaras that have led millions of evolved human beings on the path of liberation to attain the state of eternal Bliss, which is the ultimate positive!
