Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada, Matsarya, Dambha, Darpa, Asuya, Irshya, Ahankara, Raga and Dvesha are the different types of faults that exist inside us in the form of tubers. These tubers are the root cause of our sufferings. However, unaware of this fact, we keep dancing to its tunes all day. Your question suggests your willingness to come out of these faults. This is a very encouraging sign for our willingness is one of the important pre-requisites on the path of removing any fault. How does Gnani remove these faults? rnCan we also use those practices to remove our faults?rnThe answer is yes…rnSo, let’s discuss Gnani’s methods which we can learn to incorporate too. 1.Make our faults regressive. rnThe primary objective should be to make our faults regressive in nature i.e. without hurting anyone outside it should be possible for us to retract them internally. If we succeed doing this, it suggests a very good progress. Thereafter, when the faults get removed, the tuber dissolves. The following steps will help us work towards achieving this objective. 2.Identify the faults.rnThe tubers we have show up in every act of ours as they are constantly dripping through our thoughts, speech and actions. So see the pattern - at what time, in what circumstances, and in what form does it show up. We want to take into observation how these tubers are working. When you maintain awareness, you are able to find the faults and identify the tuber that is actively functioning at the root of it. 3.Apply the 4 steps.rna.Firmly determine that this tuber is wrong. This helps change our opinion, which is the main cause behind the existence of the tuber. b.Establish how this tuber is wrong. For this, we will study the damages that our tuber causes to us and to people around us. c.Do pratikraman whenever someone is hurt due to this tuber of ours. Pratikraman mean:- i.confessing our mistake before God, rnii.asking for forgiveness with repentance in our heart and rniii.Decide to not repeat the mistake again. d.Never protect the tubers. We defend the tubers knowingly or unknowingly by taking its side, especially when someone shows us our fault. Since it hurts our ego, we immediately go defensive, not realizing that we are protecting the very faults that we are working hard to drive out. These tubers are our weaknesses and they will only leave when we stop supporting them. So ask for strength from God / Gnani to not protect our mistakes. 4.Do not hurt anyone because of this faultrnIn the process of removing any fault of ours, the first level that we want to cross is ‘I don’t want to hurt anyone because of this tuber of mine.’ Whenever there is difference of opinion, try to make the other person understand. If the other person doesn’t agree, let it go. But do not succumb to your faults and end up hurting the person. When you succeed in crossing this level, your tuber will have reduced significantly. 5.Do not feel hurt on account of this faultrnThe next level that we want to win over is ‘I don’t want to see anyone’s faults nor do I want to see anything negative and I do want to suffer internally either because of my tuber.’ Whenever a negative reaction arises inside, if we rightly understand that, ‘it is my tuber that is burning inside, let it burn’, then a feeling of gratitude will naturally emerge for the other person because he is helping us remove our fault. This will help us get stronger and our fault go weaker. 6.Our interest in satiating the faultrnThe third level comprises of overcoming the feeling of sweetness that one experiences within, when the craving arising from the fault is satiated. It is due to this interest that the tubers flourish. One must refrain from taking pleasure in such a situation and instead do internal penance with a determination to maintain equanimity. This will help erode our fault in a big way. 7.Keep separation with the fault.rnThe entire process of removing these faults, right from identification to acceptance of the fault and repenting for the fault to removal of the same becomes very easy when we remain separate from the fault. The faults prosper due to our oneness with the fault. Hence, this is the fourth level we will need to win over in order to fulfill our objective of getting rid of our faults. After one attends a Self-Realization (Gnan) Ceremony conducted by Gnani, it becomes easier to keep the faults separate. We realize that, “I am a Pure Soul and my nature is to only see and know.” With this, our belief, ‘I am indeed the one who is having this fault’ also drops. In fact, all of the above steps become easier when we have Self-Realization. To get there, you may visit https://www.dadabhagwan.org/rnand rnhttps://www.dadabhagwan.org/self-realization/
