Emotional development and self esteem go together. Everybody once in a while feels inferior and needs encouragement from time to time. Lack of self-esteem begins in the mind and occasionally weighs down our well being. It is usually not easy to tell when low self esteem sets in. Being able to see the potential in you must begin from the mind. Not only from the mind, even a little positive or kind word can make a lot of difference and raise somebody’s self-esteem. How we appear to the public have a lot on how want to be taken care of. When emotion development is taken care of effectively, there will definitely be no trace of feeling worthless or weak. Self-esteem begins by feeling good about ourselves. It is the first step of self-worth that begins to take root in the mind. Anytime something is not right or we are sad our emotions are hard hit. This in itself is a sign that the two cannot be separated at any cost. By trying to keep our emotions away from our day to day goings around us, we are cheating ourselves. It is not possible at all and at any cost. When we need self esteem to stay on course we need to have positive emotions. One can choose to have positive emotions amidst the negatives goings around us. Emotions are like a double edged sword, depending on which side of the sword we wish to use. For a positive self esteem our minds must be on course with out having negative thoughts. To develop emotionally, we must identify with our surrounding situation to try and accept what we can live with and what we cannot have. A sense of our well-being depends on ones positive outlook in life which essentially begins from the mind. Negative emotions and thoughts lowers our esteem and makes us feel unwanted and not worth anything. When we hurt or grief and are in deepest pain our emotions dive to their lowest and the sense of self-worth disappears. Setting a benchmark on how we live our life and discarding negative thoughts can bring noted relief on our emotions. By looking to the positive side of everything boosts our self esteem and helps us to develop. Choosing how we live our live wholly depends on our state of mind. Families and those we spend considerable time with at a tender age are the ones who can develop us emotionally and enable us to look at the world in the face. Too much criticism has its long term effects on a child’s emotional and self-esteem. By deciding to understand what effects emotional development and self esteem can add to our lives, we will be able to make a decisive choice on the kind of life we want to live. Assessing our strengths and weakness is a sure way of identify with the haywire emotions reigning wild in our minds. We need to remember that without a good emotional trend our self-esteem will surely dive.
