Graphic designing is a highly creative field in which designers work with texts, images, colours, patterns, and combine them to convey a particular idea. This conveying of a particular message, informing people about the product, to persuade them to buy it through attractive designs is a job entrusted with a talented graphic designer. Graphic design plays a huge and a very important part in the advertising and marketing activity of a business organization. Designers use their creative flair using typography, imagery and their combination with colours and patterns to produce provoking designs. The role of designers is evident everywhere around us from huge billboard advertisements of designer wear hovering on the top of a city mall to the visiting card of an acquaintance lying quietly in your wallet. Let’s take an example, to probe further the relationship between designing and advertising/marketing: If you are asked to think of a particular software company, a publishing house or a popular airline, what do you think first and how do you relate to that particular business venture in your mind. It is most likely that images of its logo will conjure up in your mind. You are likely to remember the design and the colour of the logo. This logo is a brand identity and if you can recall it, then the graphic designer who has designed it deserves a pat on the back. The purpose of creating a logo is to develop a brand image and identity with which consumers can associate and of course if it’s having a high recall value, the purpose of creating is fulfilled. So, a designer plays an important role in branding. His work extends designing the brochures, pamphlets, tabloids; invitation cards and every aspect of branding which organization want to get them designed in an attractive and informative way. There are several career options for designers in the designing and allied fields. They can make a career in Illustration, typography, animation, digital/web design etc. and work in the advertising and marketing department of an organization. The work of the designers can also be seen in product packaging which is required to be visually appealing and informative at the same time to creating digital interfaces in the web world where making a strong advertising campaign is necessary to attract customers. designers have the artistic ability to effectively communicate ideas through designs. Their vision should be in sync with that of the client. You can acquire designing skills by pursuing a professional program in graphic designing.
