Stanford Law School was founded when former President Benjamin Harrison joined the faculty as the first professor of law. Its establishment year is 1893. This is one of the top Law schools in the world and has been ranked one of the top three by U.S. News & World Report many times. Their law school logo is simple, attractive and contemporary. It consists of the university name in thin and straight fonts over a bright red colored background. The word “Stanford” is written in white color while “Law School” is written in black. It is this combination of white and black with red that makes it bright and ageless.

2. Yale:

The Yale Law School logo consists of an image of an alligator on a green colored background, a grey hound on a gold colored background and silver staples on a black colored background. This design first appeared in 1956 and each element of the pattern has a unique significance. The law school was started by Seth Staples in the early nineteenth century which is why the emblem consists of silver staples. Samuel Hitchcock, whose family had emigrated from Wales to British West Indies, was Staples successor in 1824. He was considered the institute’s moving spirit until 1845. The Hitchcock family was represented by an alligator, which was inspired by the traditional dragon image that was used to represent Welsh entities. Judge David Daggett, previously spelled as “Doggett”, became the co-proprietor in 1824. He was represented by the image of the greyhound.

3. University of Chicago:

University of Chicago, Law College was founded in 1902 and is one of the most prestigious and selective schools in the world. Their monogram consists of a shield in white and maroon colors. The lower half of the shield consists of an image of an eagle while the upper half has an illustration of a book with the school motto. The school motto “Crescat scientia; vita excolatur” is inscribed in Latin in the book which means “Let knowledge grow from more to more; and so be human life enriched”

4. NYU:

NYU Law was the founded in 1835 and was the first school to be established in New York City. Their monogram consists of an illustration of a torch with flames. The college name in written in thin and straight fonts. The combination of black and white is sophisticated and classic. This emblem is as suitable for a law college as it is for a middle school logo.

5. Columbia:

Columbia Law College was founded in 1858 and is one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in United States. Their brand mark consists of an image of three crowns encased in a blue colored shield. The school motto is written in Latin “In lumine Tuo videbimus lumen” which means “In Thy light shall we see the light”. The three crowns in the shield have been inspired by the King’s crown.
