The Prince Log Splitter Hydraulic Cylinders are popular valves that are used on a lot of factory-made log splitters. Using the LS-3000 Valve by Prince Log Splitter Hydraulics, it has a pressure actuated detent at the in position which releases when the cylinder bottoms out. Chromed spool with an adjustable relief and reversible handle is what this is made of. LS-3000 Valve has a 3/4 - inch NPT inlet and outlet.
The basic components of a hydraulic machine to split wood into firewood suitable for a fireplace and other wood burning devices is what is used by a log splitter. The log splitter has five components and they are listed below.

Exactly How a Prince Log Splitter Hydraulic Cylinder Works
A piston housing, cylinder piston, piston seal, shaft and gland is what a Prince Log Splitter Hydraulic Cylinder is made of. A cylinder which has the capacity to withstand pressurized hydraulic oil within its bore is what it is used to house it. There is a greater pressure created which converts into force which is capable of splitting a piece of wood into firewood with the larger bore cylinders.
The piston pushes against the hydraulic fluid within a piston. The difference between fully retracted length and fully extended length of the rod is the stroke of a hydraulic cylinder. The rigidity and size of the rod is important, too, when splitting wood. There will be a risk of bending and rendering the hydraulic cylinder inoperable when the side load is exerted on the rod in each stroke. It is vital for the rod to be extremely rigid and fixed within the housing.
As the stroke forces the rod and its attachment through a piece of wood, the rod passes through the gland of the cylinder. The rod seal in the gland may become brittle after repetitive use and cause a leakage of hydraulic fluid. The rod seal removes most debris from the rod as it retracts into the cylinder body.
