Our thoughts shape who we are and how we interact with the world around us. Therefore it becomes important to have a positive outlook in our daily life. We always hear people saying, “Be positive.”rnIt is because studies have shown that having positive emotions, one can improve their health; the chances of getting illnesses reduce and it helps us grow in many aspects of life and spirituality. On the other hand, studies have also shown that prolonged negative emotions can lead to many health disorders like phobia, depression, anxiety, suicide, violence and physical disorders. rnBut what is the actual meaning of being positive? How does one see the positive even in the negative circumstances?rnPujya Deepakbhai explains, rnThere are 2 types of intellect:rnShubh (positive) and rnAshubh (negative)rnwhich lead us in two different directions. Ashubh intellect causes misery while the Shubh intellect causes happiness. rnThere is also a third type of intellect which is called Samyak (the enlightened) intellect, which takes one towards their Soul and provides happiness all the time. One with Samyak intellect finds happiness even in misery. Even if we understand the positives and negatives, the positive will always give us happiness. It is not like intellect always causes misery. If you want to be happy in the worldly life, then go towards something positive.rnLet’s understand what it means to go towards positive in our real life… If someone is cursing at you, you feel sad and angry. If a strong person is cursing, you will keep getting upset inside. And if a weaker person is cursing, then you will go and slap them on the face.rnWhat if you have two options, either a person will curse at you twice or will hit you with a stick twice, which one would you choose? You will choose to get cursed instead of being beaten. If someone is a policeman and wants to punish you for some offence, what would you choose? Being cursed twice. While he is cursing at you, if the awareness prevails that, ‘Oh! It’s less than being beaten by a stick’ - wouldn’t that keep your mind at peace? That’s called positive vision. Instead, we get sad in negative circumstances like, ‘ Why did you say that to me? Who do you think you are?’ rnIf you see negative in someone, then it will bind animosity towards another person. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan has given us a positive vision that can handle every situation. For instance, if your one finger gets cut, then you still have nineteen that are safe - see positive in that way. If you see positivity in every stage of life, then you will not feel misery in worldly interactions. You continuously have to stay positive within yourself. For this, you require Satsang (that imparts right understanding) which will help you. Here you get a vision which is ahead of the positive vision, that is the Shuddha (pure) vision. rnIf someone says good or bad things to you, he is not saying it to you (because our real Self is not this body or name, we all are really a pure Soul). If you have this pure (Shudha) vision, then it won’t hurt you. The one cursing is not cursing at you, but the name plate (the name given to this body). Who knows me? I am a pure Soul. If you have this vision (the vision of really who am I), then it won’t be painful anymore. The one who is cursing is not cursing himself, it is the baggage of karma which is cursing, the Soul is separate in him. If you get the vision of the Soul (the right vision of the real), then the world will never cause you misery in any form. Positive vision can be developed with intellect and the vision of Self can be developed with Gnan (Self-Realization). And here, the Enlightened One gives you that Gnan through which this vision can prevail continuously inside you. He provides you the keys through which you can protect this vision. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan says, “Adopt one principle in life; always remain positive, never support negative. Whenever any negative arises, remain silent.” To know more: https://www.dadabhagwan.org/path-to-happiness/self-help/positive-thinking/
