When on one hand, too many thoughts cloud the mind at a time, and on the other hand, we don’t know how to deal with these thoughts; when on one hand same thoughts keep repeating over and over again, and on the other hand we fail to understand how to resolve these thoughts and bring about a solution to the matter-at-hand, in such situations, it often creates such a turbulence within us that we feel sick and tired of this mind, but can’t find ways and means to come out of its clutch. And when such a phase prolongs over time, one could experience some kind of mental instability, and even depression due to over-thinking.rnHow do we come out of this? rnThrough right understanding and the right knowledge! rnFirst of all, let’s gather some understanding…rnParam Pujya Dada Bhagwan, the Enlightened being, states that:rnThe world is not for suffering, it is for enjoying happiness!rnThe magnitude of the karmic account one has, that much he will face. Some people experience only happiness. Why is that? Some experience only unhappiness. Why is that? It is because one has brought forth such karmic accounts. The hurt that one has to suffer is indeed one’s own fault and no one else’s. Any suffering that arises within is indeed our own mistake; it is not the mistake of the other person.rnOnce you realize your own mistake, it means a solution has come about; thereafter the puzzle is solved. Otherwise, as long as you keep trying to prove that the other person is at fault, the puzzle will never be solved. Only when you accept that, ‘It is my mistake,’ will you be free from this world. There is no other solution. All these circumstances that come together, they are all a result. rnThese are all results. They are comparable to the results received in test examinations. rnSay one receives ninety-five marks out of a hundred in mathematics, while in English, he receives twenty-five marks out of a hundred. Then would you not know where the mistake lies? So, just go ahead and destroy the mistake! rnIn this world, no living being can cause distress to another living being; that is how independent it is. However, if someone is causing us distress, then it is because of our interference (mistakes) done in the past. It is only due to the unfolding of our own karma that we come across such circumstances. Upon destroying the mistake, there will be no karmic account left. rnOur mistakes are called atikraman. To repent heartily for our mistakes and return to the right path is called pratikraman. With such pratikraman, not only will your life run beautifully, but it will also be possible to attain final liberation!rnHow do we do pratikraman? rnParam Pujya Dadashri explains, “Recall the pure Soul (the God residing within you) who is separate from the mind, speech, and body complex, charge karma, discharge karma, John (please insert your name in lieu of John) and all illusion related to the name of John, and say, “Oh pure Soul, I have spoken in a harsh manner and that is a mistake of mine. So I am asking for forgiveness for this. And I resolve to never repeat this mistake. Give me the strength to not repeat this mistake.” Next, we come to the second part of solution, and that is Attaining the Right knowledgernAttain Self-realization (the knowledge of the Self, the real Self)rnAttaining Self Realization (Gnan) through Akram Vignan is very, very easy. You just have to attend a Self-Realization Ceremony, conducted by the Enlightened One. It lasts for two hours and it’s totally free of cost. Self-Realization will help you enormously as you then know how to keep your mind separaternToday, you become one with the mind, and that’s the reason it drags you into a whirlpool of thoughts. However, after Self-Realization, no matter how many thoughts arise at a time, and regardless of the chaos their cross-currents create in mind, following the Enlightened One’s words, You persevere to remain in the awareness of the pure Soul (the real Self), whose nature is only to see and know every thought, word or action, as it happens, without getting identified with any of those. The Enlightened One teaches us the right way to meditate, post Self-Realization: “Watch what thoughts are coming. Be an observer. As an observer, you have to watch what thoughts are coming, and soon it will go! It is because the mind is doing its work, it is its function to give thoughts, and you (as a Soul, the Self) are an observer (and your work is to observe those thoughts). Both the things are separate. This is an object and you are an observer. Don’t cancel (or try to get rid of) the thoughts. Just watch what thoughts are coming and going, and (remain in the awareness of,) ‘I am knower and seer (observer).’ That’s the right meditation. Take Gnan (Self-Realization), then you will understand that, ‘I am a Pure Soul’ and the mind is of John (please insert your name here). Mind never stops. We cannot stop the mind. We cannot control the mind, we can just observe the mind. The thoughts are the discharge atoms, and we, as a Pure Soul, are the Knower and Seer. So we have to keep equanimity. I do not want to get disturbed by the mind. I am just keeping an observation of what thoughts are coming. And the thoughts will soon go (leave). We are just the Knower and Seer. The real meditation is this - we have to just observe what all thoughts are coming!rnThoughts are coming through the tubers of anger, pride, deceit and greed. Wherever we have given opinion in the past, the opinions remain as tubers in the mind. Now, thoughts are coming through that mind. So, we have to just observe. Now (after Self-Realization), we have to keep awareness of the spiritual Self that is ‘who am I’ and ‘why this is happening’.” Thus come, let’s go to this Enlightened One, and surrender all our problems in His lotus feet, with His divine grace, let’s attain Self-Realization, and following His words, progress on the path of liberation. This will automatically help get rid of all your mental instability, depression and over-thinking, and will liberate you from all worries, tensions, suffering and stress too!
