Sign 1 of a Love Break up: Physical Distance Physical distance is one of the most easy to recognize signs that a love breakup is right around the corner. Things are going well for a while and then, suddenly, you start to realize that your partner has less interest in physical contact with you. Withholding sex is one way your partner may show disinterest in getting physical, but this isn’t just about sex. It is completely natural in a relationship to have times where there is much more or much less sex. However, a love break up may be imminent if there’s a lack of other physical contact. If, for example, your partner no longer hugs you, touches you, holds your hand, or puts an arm around your shoulder to show affection; it may be the first big sign of an imminent love break up. This doesn’t apply to you if your partner is naturally less affectionate than others. It’s the sudden change that you want to look out for. Sign 2 of a Love Break up: Rejection and Apprehension An even bigger red flag than your partner’s disinterest in physical touch is when your partner actually rejects physical contact with you. Trouble may be brewing if he repeatedly pulls away when you lean in for a kiss or she pulls her hand away when you try to hold it. Other examples include rejecting your phone calls or your attempts to spend time together. Now of course this isn’t always a sign of a love break up in the making, but you better address the issue while you have the chance. Check with your partner to see if there’s a rational explanation like sleepiness, feeling sick, frustration with work, or just bad timing. If not, try getting to the bottom of what’s wrong so that you can prevent a break up before it’s too late. Sign 3 of a Love Break Up: Your Partner is Telling Lies Another tell-tale sign that your partner is ready to break up with you is lying. Maybe the lies haven’t been about anything major, they’ve been virtually harmless. So what! It’s still a sign and you want to take heed. If the lie is really no-big-deal, then why not just tell the truth? Oftentimes, lies come in a series. You uncover the first one and it leads to another, and another, and another. Now before you go off and assume your relationship is over just because your partner told a lie, remember that a warning sign is not a definite answer. It is simply an opportunity to take a deeper look at your relationship. Your partner could have been deceptive for a very good reason, like a surprise of some sort. For that reason, you must be careful not to overreact. So, what’s the best way to handle your conce s and avoid a love break up? Here’s the key: Know the signs, keep your eyes and ears open, don’t jump to conclusions, keep communication flowing, and let your partner know that you are willing to do what you can to fix your relationship problems.
