Being a good seller online involves more than having a great variety of products. It incorporates several factors that can help sellers not only to attract prospective buyers and increase sales but also in building relationships and trust. Being an online sellers myself and getting involved with e-commerce for a long period of time, I was always looking for ways to build trust around my online profile, attract more buyers and make sales. Below there are a few essential tips that will assist individuals in become more effective and efficient in their online selling activities: Providing information about your items: Detailed and clear explanation of the items you are selling is key in becoming a good seller and attracting buyers. Buyers will get a clear picture of the products you are promoting and it will substantially reduce the time needed to answer questions and private messages regarding your listings. Returns Policy & Shipping: A clear returns policy saves trouble. Be clear about any conditions that you may have regarding refunds and returns. It is good practice to replace and refund the buyer in case the item is not as expected. It is also advised to provide cheaper shipping services for large quantity purchases and offer discounts to repeat buyers. Multimedia: Providing images is a great way to help demonstrate the products you are promoting and provide to the prospective buyers a clear view about what they are buying. Moreover in most marketplaces you will be allowed to upload or embed videos in the product description so take full advantage of this option to show and promote your items. Answer Questions: By answering questions and providing additional information when needed builds trust and increases the chances of making sales. It also provides good customer support and it most likely to receive positive reviews or feedback. Know your buyers: Last but not least always try to know your buyers. Beware of suspicious payments, always double-check the shipping address and avoid posting items to alternative addresses. Keep always a copy of the delivery paperwork and protect your shipped items by providing insurance and a tracking number. Lastly try to encourage your buyers to use online methods to pay for their purchases such as PayPal, Moneybookers and Google Checkout. Taking into consideration the above tips will certainly increase the chances of having a better online experience, avoid fraudulent activity, make more sales and become all around better seller.
