Life may at times throw challenges in our way that may be hard to deal with. During these times, our moods are most likely to be affected negatively. Bad moods are not only bad to ourselves but to the people around us. Every effort, therefore, should be made in avoiding moodiness or at least reducing its effect. But how can you do this? Fake A Good Mood Until You Achieve Also known as faking it until you make it. This is one of the best ways to be less moody. The human brain responds to your mood. When you have a bad mood, your brain will respond by giving you bad thoughts. However, if you pretend to be happy and smile then other people around you will also smile. Your brain will respond to the fake smile by giving you positive thoughts which will result in being less moody. Consider A Change of Environment Your environment plays a big role in shaping your moods. If you're in an environment that makes you feel moody, a change of environment will do the trick. Instead of sitting around the house feeling moody, get out and meet people that will bring you positive feelings. rnConsider going out for a walk in the park. Natural environments are known to bring more positive thoughts in your mind. This way, you'll be less moody at the end and also slightly fitter. Exercise Regularly Exercising is good for the body for a whole lot of reasons. rnWhen the human body is engaged in a physical activity, the brain will react by producing certain hormones. These include adrenaline, dopamine, and endorphins. All of these hormones are responsible for lowering tension and boosting your mood. Exercising has been proven to help improve the mental state of people. To be less moody, consider getting into a fitness program at the gym or do it inside your house – there are plenty of videos online so you should be able to find a program that suits you. Listen to Music You probably know the positive feelings you get when listening to music. When you purposely listen to some good music, the beats and lyrics of the song will impact on your feelings and boost your mood. Get some music that you enjoy and save it somewhere you can easily access at all times - this could be your phone or a Spotify playlist. Remember to choose the music wisely! Talk to Someone It's an undeniable fact that the people around you play a big role in determining your mood. Sometimes, all you need to relieve stress and get a better mood is to talk to someone about your feelings. This should be someone who can listen, understand and comfort you. You can talk to your spouse, parent, sibling, or friend. If they are not near you can call them or send them a message. Conclusion If you are having trouble controlling your feelings you don't have to have a bad day just because you have a bad mood.
