Enterprise apps are driving the latest trends within in the workplace. However there are instances wherein enterprise apps seem to be unappealing to the employees. Let us discuss about the factors that has to be considered while creating internal mobile apps for your business. Instead of simply creating an enterprise for the company without considering the employee expectations, it is desirable to focus more on creating apps that actually matters to the employees and the apps that they would actually use. Only an employee-friendly app would be able to give better returns for the investment being made by the company in the form of money, resources and time.
Consider your audience

Before creating any product that is designed for consumers, it is very important to understand the kind of audience for your brand products or services. Similarly, it is important to understand your employees and the objectives of your brand before creating an enterprise app for your brand. It is better to interact with the employees and do some research on the department before designing the app. However if you are someone who interacts with the departments within your company regularly, then understanding the employee expectations would not be a problem, but if you aren’t interactive then you might not be able to create an enterprise app satisfying employee expectations. Try to identify the features that they need and features they do not want in the enterprise app so as to make the enterprise app part of their daily routine.

Employees would be interested in enterprise apps similar to some of the most popular consumer apps, even if it is meant for enterprise purposes. An enterprise app with a user-friendly, clean and simpler interface is what is required. Ensure the employees have easier access towards information, customization abilities and simpler but intuitive interface within the enterprise app.
Building your app on the right platform

It is better to prefer a web-based app since users especially employees might be interacting with a number of devices each day. By creating an enterprise app only on Android or iOS application, you might not be able to get all employees under one platform as the devices or operating systems they use might differ. Web-based app can be accessed across multiple devices and irrespective of the operating systems being supported. However ensure easy accessibility with the web-based app for the employees.

Coordinate with the IT department

It is a necessity to coordinate with the IT department while creating the enterprise apps rather than not giving priority to their views and instead going ahead with a third-party IT Company to create the enterprise app for your business. Ensure that your company appoints an experienced IT employee as the one who would be responsible for the hosting and running of the apps after completion of its design and implementation. Thus two teams can be assigned itself within the IT department where in the second IT team would be responsible in researching and analyzing the new and upcoming trends in the enterprise application development. Thus businesses can have a more agile and innovative IT department within their company.

Initiate friendly-competitions

Once the enterprise app has been created and implemented, the next big challenge would be to increase the interest for this app among the employees. Initiate a competition and offer a prize for the employee who wins the competition. Such a competition would increase the interest among employees to participate in the competition. The competition can be held between the various departments within the company. Thus by making the enterprise app more of a means for fun and employee interaction, companies would be able to avoid introducing the enterprise app merely as an app that was going to increase the workload of the employees.
