Choosing the right web presenter for your online video is just as important as choosing the right words for them to say. Your presenter should look and sound professional, have a clear delivery and talk directly to your target audience. And it's the "talking directly to your target audience" that can be the tricky bit. So how do you choose the right one? First of all think about your target audience - are they young or old? Male or female? What demographic do they fit into? What level of education? What sort of job do they do or are they still studying? Define your target audience as clearly as possible. Now think about your product or service? Is it fun and funky? Or stable and secure? What personality does it have? Are you solving a difficult problem or offering a way to entertain people? Do you want to show solid reliability or innovative dynamism? By defining your target audience and the "personality" of your product you will be better able to choose the correct web presenter for your video. For example, if you are targeting young teenagers with a music product you probably want a younger, hip presenter that is more like the audience you are aiming at. If your product is about security then you may want an older presenter that looks trustworthy and knowledgeable. If you are selling fashion or beauty then a woman may be better. So think carefully about what you want your web presenter to say about your company - before they even open their mouth! Always see a demo of the potential presenter first - check that they fit the audience profile, check that they have the right voice (including tone, delivery and accent), and be sure that you can clearly understand them. You only get one chance to engage your audience so you need to get it right first time. Most good video production companies will be able to help you choose the right person and show you footage of them in action. Having a web presenter on your site can deliver a massive boost to your audience engagement - but only if you get the right presenter for your company.
