How to choose Best Ergonomic Keyboard for Work

With some many keyboards on the market choosing the right one for your requirements and comfort can be a challenge. Having owned and used a few keyboards over the years, i thought I’d right this guide in order to inform and educate my experience of makes and models of Best Ergonomic Keyboards.

Being honest you will pay a little more for branded keyboards and PC equipment in general. However like your bed you have to realise your are using this tech day in, day out – that’s why quality and easy of use is important.

For example, I am an online writing, I write all day. I have a Surface Book, the keystroke is clean and like most Microsoft equipment function and crisp. It wasn’t cheap, but the pleasant writing experience means its a joy to use and I can, if needed write on it ALL day – No complaint whatsoever.

This is what you want in a keyboard. Like your mattress at home, you are going to be spending considerable time using it, so why scrimp? Answer DO NOT!

Logitech 350 wireless Ergonomic Keyboard

This is the entry level keyboard in the test an whilst i like logitech, there brand is good and the average standard of hardware is good, keyboards are not their forte. The keys feel bouncy and hollow, although the base is high quality and well put together – with the lights bright and easy to read an other all good standard.

I currently own a logitech keyboard now and i have to admit my personal key preference is a short sharp crisp “Click”, here you can type okay but there is no real sense of HCI (Human computer interaction) or ergonomic feel back with this model. Good for a average home setup, not a professional working keyboard, although a very high standard build.

Microsoft Natural 4000 Keyboard

Microsoft since the days of their classic ball mouse have always impressed me with their professional high standard hardware and peripherals. This is why in one way they expensive in another way, in demand by big business, who use them as the standard tech, a mark of professional quality.

With excellent support and in my experience the hardware will outlast the PC. The keystroke is nice and crisp and something that when it works great you forget about it. Highly recommended.

Kinesis Advantage2 KB600

The Kinesis Advantage 2 (KB600) is a fancy keyboard and i know that sounds posh way to introduce something, but sometimes innovation leads the field and here the Kinesis demonstrates that.

The keyboard is dipped to allow for superior comfort and the keys stroke nice with a solid feel to the design of the hardware.

It looks out of a sci-fi movie so you will get a few looks using this thing and at £300 it isn’t cheap, however it has a luxury all day feel and it integrates seamlessly with the user offering total concentration.

Again if you can afford this, recommended, although not the best value.

Corsair CH-9103000-UK K66

This keyboard looks the business its futurism design and known brand make this a quality attractive keyboard. It looks well build and the media controls add the finish making this a professional looking keyboard.

There is just one problem, again it might be in which case, i recommend trying out these keyboards before you buy them. I don’t like the key feedback, it feel unnatural to me and out of natural typing rhythm.

This to mee is shame because i like the look and setup of this keyboard and just by feel i thought this was going to be the winner, but annoying usability isn’t there.

Verdict

People will not like me for saying this, but i choose Microsoft everytime. Pure professionalism and in this case, best value.
