How to choose table accessories for a wedding – Part 1

For most people, your wedding table accessories will be an afterthought to your bridal gown or bridal party outfits. However for some they that may have a vision of their wedding tables and work their outfits around that. Whatever the case, key to the process is to ensure that the two are in sync with each other in terms of styling.

So what style have you always dreamed of for your wedding day? Soft and romantic, bold and striking, elegant, traditional or contemporary? Unless you are striving for an eclectic mismatch, you should ensure that your choice flows through to your table accessories on your wedding day.

They are many considerations when selecting your table accessories. Do you have a theme, a colour range or colour combination? When it comes to your paper accessories you will need to consider the paper quality, texture and font used for continuity and to ensure that they support your vision.

So what table accessories are there to choose from? Simply, many. Some are fairly standard fare whilst others may not be for all. Table linen, tablecloths and napkins, are an important decision as they set the scene and support or provide a base for your other table accessories. The quality, texture and colour of your fabric are important decisions.

A both decorative and functional item is place cards and place card holders. Unless you are having a buffet style wedding with no fixed seating then you’ll likely invest in some place cards. These allow you to set the table place settings as you see fit knowing who gets along with who and perhaps who doesn’t get along with who.
