Acne is a skin condition that usually appears in the onset of puberty, in both genders and normally continues into adulthood. Fromteenagers to working adults, acne has proven to be a popular enemy. The effects of acne can be categorized as, both mental and physical, such as, depression, low self-esteem and skin scarring. Several other kinds of treatment are obtainable for the treatment of acne and in all likelihood the most frequently used is the acne scar cream. Presently, a number of different brands of acne scar cream are easily obtainable in the market. Most of these can be bought over the counter at several local supermarkets or pharmacies. Not all acne creams can be bought over the counter as there are some acne scar creams that are stronger than others and do require a prescription from a doctor in order to be purchased. As the skin differs from person to person, one should always consult a dermatologist before using any acne scar cream. Normally a skin analysis should be carried out before the application of any scar cream. The scar screams used for oily skin is unlike from the ones for dry skin and using the wrong cream on one's skin could sometimes worsen the acne condition. It is normally believed that oily skin appears to look more youthful, stays soft longer and requires less moisturizer. However, oily skin carries its own disadvantages such as, extreme oil buildup which contributes to bacterial infections. As a result, oily skin tends to be more than prone to acne. It is ideal to always use a toner, an oil removing product, before applying the acne scar cream. This would take off excessive oils and any layers on the skin, having the scar cream directly exposed on to the skin. Normally, dry skin isn't prone to acne outbreaks because the skin is not exposed to much bacteria as oily skin, but outbreaks do appear often. The way acne scar cream products work is they first deal with the issues that caue the break out of acne like excess oiliness, bacterial infections and blocked pores. A few acne scar cream products even contain an exfoliating effect in which the weakened layer of skin is removed and the resulting new layer of skin is less prone to acne that would appear afterwards. However, most creams require additional separate exfoliating and cleaning products prior to the application of the acne scar cream. The usage of scar creams should be done with care as many brands of acne scar cream sometimes tend to initiation different side effects in the body. These include, but are not limited to, dry skin, skin irritation, redness and skin peeling. Acne scar cream products provide an easy and effective method to deal with acne. As with any medical product, the careful and correct usage would hopefully deliver the desired effect.
