When it comes to choosing an RV, the choices available can sometimes be downright daunting. You can get anything from a tiny teardrop trailer all the way up to a bus size behemoth. With all these choices, it can get a bit over whelming for a first time RV buyer. But you can cut through all this confusion and worry by simply sticking to a logical method of choosing the RV that is right for you, your family, and your needs. So read on to find out how to choose the right sized recreational vehicle for you. The first thing you need to think about when choosing an RV is where you want to go with it. This may seem obvious, but lots of people do not think about these things until they get stuck halfway in a fast food restaurant drive through. Larger RV sizes are going to be hard to maneuver in cities and on smaller roads. Getting back deep into the woods will be a challenge for these bigger models. So decide how big is too big to get started. Once you know what is too big, you will need to decide what is going to be too small for your needs. The main things to think about here are the number of people traveling with you and the length of time you will want to stay out of civilization. The number of people is obvious as you will need space for everyone to sleep and enough room to make them comfortable living close together. One thing to think about is that the bigger the RV, the bigger the water, propane, and waste tanks are. Bigger tanks means more time away from the world. If that is what you are interested in, you should invest in a bit bigger of an RV. You will also want to decide if you want a tow vehicle or not. This can allow you to get a bit bigger size RV as you can always simply unhitch the vehicle and take a ride into town and navigate as you normally would. This can be a great way to balance out having a bigger RV. The extra towing weight is usually not such a big drag on gas mileage either. If you go this route, you will need to decide whether you want to go with a straight tow setup or a tow trailer, as each have their advantages. A straight tow is easier to hook up and unhook, while a tow trailer saves wear and tear on the suspension and tires of the tow vehicle. You will need to decide which is right for you. The final desicision you will want to make with regards to the size of you Recreational Vehicle is whether you want a model with pull out sections or not. These can be a great way to get more space when parked, but can also present other problems such as rearranging your stuff to collapse them when you need to move again.
