Cloning in Adobe Photoshop is an important skill to learn. The more tools you learn to use, the better your cloning will be. There are many tools to choose from, including the Healing Brush, Spot Healing Brush, and Patch Tools. The Content Aware and Vanishing Point tools are also available. Now that I have brought them to your attention, Let's take a look at these in some detail.

Not knowing when to use the correct tools can cause poor results. The clone stamp is good, but Photoshop cs5 has so many more tools you can learn to use. You should really watch some tutorials and bring your skills up to par.

If you are new to Adobe Photoshop for a long time, you should learn how to use each of the tools can benefit you. Some work better than others, and you will learn by trial and error. Ideally, you should make sure you are watching new, and updated Photoshop CS5 tutorials. If you make a mistake and watch a video for CS3 or CS4, then you will me missing out on the new features the tools may offer.

Clone Stamp Tool - The Clone Stamp, or Rubber Stamp Tool, is the oldest, and most effective of them all. Mostly, this is because you, the retoucher, are inn complete control. It takes years to become proficient with this tool. But, once you figure it out, there is little you can not do.

Spot Healing Brush - The Spot Healing Brush Tool can remove unwanted dirt from an image. This brush will create sample from the pixels around it, mixing the color and texture. This brush works wonders on predictable areas, like gradients. Unfortunately, of you happen to be next to a contrasting area, you will definitely start picking up unwanted distortions..

Healing Brush - The Healing Brush tool is another tool that allows you to remove dust and dirt. This tool allows allows you to select your own sample area. The sampled area will then be mixed with the color and textures by Photoshop.

Patch Tool - The Patch Tool corrects the image using a sampled area. This is a combination of the Lasso and the Healing Brush. By keeping the color and texture behind, this tool does an amazing job.

Content Aware Fill - The Content Aware Fill is about modifying objects in a selected area. Since this tool is automated, you have limited control over the results.

Vanishing Point - The Vanishing Point Filter is for cloning in perspective. You can easily clone in 3-D space. It works along a dimensional plane, and is great for architectural needs.

Even if you know how to use a few of these Adobe Photoshop Cloning Tools, you are really missing out. Each one of these tools can great in one situation, but not in another. As a professional retoucher, you need to learn how to use all the Adobe Photoshop tools available to you.
