* Your information is less likely to get lost on someone’s desk when it’s compiled in a nice folder
* You can make a bunch ahead of time or update as you wish What is a Presentation Kit? It’s a simple folder with selected marketing and promotional materials of your choice. Traditionally, this is called a "press kit" and to be filled with published articles and media samples. A low-tech way to start is to go to Staples and find your self a 2-pocket paper folder. They now come in a variety of textures and colors. I like the glossy black folders because they match my red and black business cards. Choose something you like. Glue your card (or post card size business card is even better) to the front with paper glue, insert your card on the inside pocket and be prepared to put a few of your prized marketing materials inside. Here are a few ideas of what to put in your presentation kit: NOTE: you do not have to use ALL of the following, 2 – 3 works just as well * A brief introduction letter to the person you are giving it to
* Your latest flyer
* Your upcoming events flyer
* Bio page or Meet “Jane” – a picture and interesting background info as to why you do what you do today
* Program descriptions
* A recent copy of your newsletter
* A recent article you wrote or published piece
* An interview (ask a friend to interview you, record it and transcribe)
* An incentive or "call to action" to test-drive your services
* A description of what you do in your first time sessions
* Top 25 benefits of working with you (situational problems you feel confident you can help solve)
* Client testimonials How to use a Presentation Kit: I find it best used when you meet with people one-on-one or for booking workshops. Be sure to pass it along to decision makers (the people who sign the checks!) that have expressed interest in meeting you. * Send with a letter to where you can offer publicity events – talks / radio shows / etc.
* Bring with you to your one-on-one networking meetings
* Point out ONE thing in your folder as you hand it over to someone
