How to deal with clients while doing website designing
Now a day’s dealing with the customer is one of the very important parts for a business organization weather it’s a commercial or noncommercial organization. However it goes same in the field of web designing. Web has become a very important part in this current market and it is used by each and every organization whether it’s a small or a multinational organization. As we know that with the demand the supply increases and with the increases in the supply competition between the organizations increases. So it is very important for a web designing organization to know how to deal with a Client to attract him towards your services.
There are many kinds of Client we deal on daily basis as a freelance web designer, but there are two kinds of Client with whom each and every web designer have to deal with once in his web designing carrier.
Kind 1:- In this the client hires a web designer but don’t have anything to offer like ideas, contents etc. For this kind of client you have to do everything from brainstorming, writing content, finding graphics, marketing and promoting the sight etc. They simply don’t care what we do or what we design for him.
Kind 2:- In this the client hires a web designer to design their web site and stay total involved in every step of the process. You have to give explanation for each and everything you did by your own in the design to the client. This kind of client micro-manages the whole project. For this kind of client you are simply a haired web designer who will carry out his wishes. They will be happy only when we do what they want.
After we come to know what kind of client we are going to deal with then our next job is to learn how to deal with them?
If the customer is of kind 1 then we have to push him to get some feedback regarding the web design. However they are not going to give you proper reaction to whatever you are doing with the site. Still it’s our job to communicate them and make them a bit involved in what you are doing. However try to ask him some questions related to the web design do make sure that the question should not be that tough.
If the client is of kind 2 then you should first try to give him your idea regarding the web design and try to convince then for your idea. However if they don’t agree its ok you go forward with is idea only but keep offering your advice whether he accept it or not. You should explain him all the negative and positive detail of the following idea so that it can leave a proper impact on the clients mind regarding the organization. However our first priority should be to make the client happy with his site.
Normally when u deal with a customer you have to follow some steps like first you have to make a note of the customers requirement towards his site then you have to generate ideas and suggest it to the following client. However you have to follow the ideas of the client only but you can help him with your ideas. Then you and client should come into an agreement with all the details written into it.
Before getting forward you should get the client a sample design so that it will be easier for you to make changes if required as per the client. This will help you to finalize the design.
So this is how you can deal with the client to get an expected result and a positive goodwill.
