How to deal with someone you dislike

Sometimes we have to deal with people that we do not want to be around in order to please someone. It takes time to get used to the people that you didn't like at the beginning or people that you held a grudge against but if you do take the time to know more about them, you will find out a great deal about them. Perhaps the things you will get to know will make you dislike them even more or perhaps you will get really close.rnIf you are looking for some way that would help you get along with those people that you dislike, then those few tips might guide your way: 1- Test them: - Testing people is often the worst thing that you could do, but to know your limits and theirs, you should actually get to know what would upset them and what would not. • Ask a lot of questions and see how they react. • Their tone of voice will indicate how they feel. • Their eyes will give away whether they are annoyed or not. • The body language will give you hints. For example, if they feel hesitant they will look around a lot; if they are certain, they will be looking straight into your eyes in most cases. 2- Share: - One of the best ways to get to know someone even better is sharing things with them. For example, if you are getting yourself coffee, get them a cup with you. - If you are wondering why you should share with someone that you dislike, it is a way to break the ice and know what you are dealing with. 3- Listen: - If you have an enemy, the best way to know how to defeat them is through knowledge. • You will know more about them from what they say. • You will know their opinion on different things. • You will get better insight of their personality and their habits. 4- Talk: - After listening, this is the best thing to do if you actually get to like them a bit. • Share some of your ideas. • See how they react to what you say. If they take a defensive approach then you should understand that they are trying to express themselves more openly to you. • If you find them not interested in what you have to say then you will be able to understand them better. 5- Express Yourself Openly: - If you come to like someone whom you held a grudge against in the past then the best thing to do is to tell them how you truly felt. Depending on your choice of words, you could establish a friendship or completely let go of the whole thing and work together if you are working within the same building and you have to face to face with each other on daily basis. - Sometimes the people that you have misjudged will be better than your closest friends and if you have never experienced that then most likely you have an aggressive attitude. If they are the ones who try to establish a friendship and you still don't like them then there is nothing to lose as long as you don't get too close to them. In many situations, you will find that the closest people to you are the ones who would sell you out and the people that you have disliked in the past will be the first ones to come to your aid.
