Learning how to discipline a child effectively can be quite frustrating. After all, you can't just spank them or yell at them. Such child discipline techniques don't really work (as I'm sure you already know). They only evoke fear and resentment in a child and I'm pretty sure that isn't what you're going for. If you want to learn how to discipline a child effectively without the usual struggles, then follow these tips! Child Discipline Technique # 1: Send Your Kid To A Corner. The premise behind this tactic is to make the child understand that they did something wrong and so must deal with the consequences. Luckily for the kid, the consequences aren't that big. They only need to stand in a corner for a good 5 to 10 minutes while thinking about what they did wrong, and why it was wrong. Those few minutes of reflection will help the child become aware of what is right and wrong, and will force them to evaluate the situation on their own. Child Discipline Technique # 2: Make Them Do Chores. One useful way on how to discipline a child effectively is to "punish" them with additional chores. For example, if your kid accidentally breaks a vase with a ball even after telling them countless times not to play ball inside the house, you can arrange for added chores as a suitable punishment. If your kid is too young to do actual chores on their own, you can ask your child to help you bake or cook instead. Chances are, they will be able to learn something new from the experience as well! And next time, they might be more inclined to help you prepare in the kitchen than to go around breaking vases. Child Discipline Technique # 3: Apply The Reward System. Positive reinforcement is very important, especially during a child's growing up years. If you want to know how to discipline a child effectively, apply the reward system. When your child does something good or something worth of praise, make sure they know it. Give your child a reward. You can buy them a new toy or simply tell your kid what a good boy or girl they have been tonight. There are many ways on how to discipline a child effectively. Whatever methods you choose will reflect on the kind of parent you are and will undoubtedly have an effect on the kind of person your child will grow up to be - so choose wisely.
