Anybody who is suffering from this condition knows that it can be debilitating and simply frustrating. Sometimes, younger people make fun of old folks who walk slowly using canes or who have shaking hands, what they don't realize is that it takes every ounce of effort on the part of the arthritic person just to make the simplest movements. If you can relate to the scene above, then you probably are suffering from extreme pain from arthritis. However, you do not have to stay at home, sit by a corner and suffer in silence. There are things you can do to help ease the pain so that you can live a relatively active life. Stay Away From Cold If there is one thing that can trigger arthritic pain, it is the cold weather. If you are already suffering from arthritis, then you better stay away from the cold temperature. Make sure that you are properly dressed during the winter, taking extra precaution to make your affected area dry and warm. You can wear several pairs of socks or gloves to keep your feet and hands from getting cold. Use Lukewarm Water All The Time There is really no reason for you not to help around the kitchen or take a bath at night. Just make sure that you use lukewarm water all the time. Sometimes, it might be a good idea to let warm water flow into the affected joints every morning. This helps alleviate the pain for most of the day. A lot of arthritis patients derive comfort from lukewarm water or hot compress. However, make sure that if you get out of the shower or bath, you dry yourself immediately so that you won't feel the chill. Don't Forget To Exercise You really do not have to jog around and perform strenuous activities. All you have to do is make sure that you exercise your joints. You can do some stretching, walking and low-impact exercises everyday. Remember that you need strong muscles to support your joints. Thus, you have to perform physical activities to also keep your muscles from atrophying. Tai chi, yoga and even ballroom dancing are activities that you can enjoy without putting too much strain on your joints. Some people also enjoy swimming or water aerobics. However, make sure that the water is lukewarm. Find a hot spring where you can laze around and do some swimming. Do Some Household Chores Another way to help ease the pain is by doing household activities, such as mowing the lawn and gardening. While you are watching the television, don't just sit on the couch, instead you can march in place or do some vacuuming. Remember the more you let your joints become inactive, the more painful they will become when you have to move. Eat Away Your Pain There are lots of foods that can ease inflammation of the joints. So you really do not have to pop some pain medications every time you feel the aches. Eat foods that are rich in Omega 3, such as mackerel, salmon and other fatty fishes. Increase your servings of fruits and vegetables, particularly green and orange produce, because they contain vitamins, minerals and antioxidants you need for cell regeneration. Take Some Supplements Instead of taking synthetic drugs, which can cause more harm than good, why don't you try taking all-natural food supplements? Just make sure that the one you will use contains Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate because these two ingredients are known not only in easing arthritic pain, but also in helping your joints to regenerate. One product that contains these two ingredients, plus a lot more, is Flexcerin. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/8jkw6ma.
