The snow is starting to thaw. The temperature is creeping upward into warmer territory. The snow shoes are put away, the trees are blooming and the snow cone stands are all reopening for business. Are you rejoicing at the change in seasons, or does the idea of showing your face (and other body parts, mostly) in a swimsuit make you dread the summertime months? If you're feeling squeamish about hitting the pool because you're not happy with your body, it's time to take action! You've still got time to tone things up and increase your confidence before "the big reveal" in June of July. Here are a couple key things you should focus on so you can step out with your chin up. (And not a double chin, even.) EAT RIGHT. Before you start hitting the gym, you need to hit the fridge and the cupboard. You can't exercise on an empty stomach, so cutting back on your intake isn't the sole key to physical fitness. You need to eat, but you need to eat smart. So, do your research online and consult with your doctor about what habits will work most effectively for your body type and physical condition. Remember, every person's dietary needs will vary -- so figure out what works for you. Which foods give you the most energy? Which ones make you feel sick? Pay attention to the effects of your consumption choices and plan your diet accordingly. EXERCISE WELL. The principle behind this step is similar to the dietary recommendations: you have to figure out what works for you individually. Not just exercising -- but exercising well. If you're really stuck, consider investing in a few personal training sessions to get you started on the right foot. Above all, try and choose exercise methods that are fun for you. You might not like exercising in general, but there's bound to be some activities you like better than others. Do you have a passion for running? Speed-walking? Jazzercise? Zumba? Whatever it is, capitalize on it! Don't be afraid to mix it up, either -- run one day and sign up for a class the next day. Monotony can really kill motivation, so mix it up to your heart's content. And, invest in a set of gym clothing that you feel good wearing -- feeling mentally confident and in the zone is a big part of effective exercising. If you can afford it and live near a gym, a membership is a worthwhile investment. Or, if you're in the process of hunting for a new apartment, check with property management companies for locations that offer gym access. Also, don't judge your progress by the numbers on the scale. Weight is just one small indicator of physical fitness, so don't over-emphasize it. DRESS FOR SUCCESS. Before you pull on a string bikini from 15 years ago and feel depressed about your aging body, think again. If you're still trying to rock the same old suit, it could be time for a major update. Just because you can't pull off the same look you dominated in your youth doesn't mean you can't still look good when you hit the beach. Head to the nearest department or specialty store and ask for an employee's assistance in finding a suit that will be most flattering on your current body type. From swim skirts to ruffles to camouflaging detailing, anyone can find a style that shows off their best features and downplays their trouble areas. Pick something you feel confident in and you'll be good to go!

Movement is one of the most honest forms of self-connection. The body never lies. It holds stress, records emotion, and reveals when something feels off. True healing often begins in the slow, intentional kind, the kind that lets the body lead and the mind follow.rnThat’s where precision-based training, such as re
