Did you know that most addicts relapse after they return home from a rehab center? If you want to get over your addiction after returning from a rehab center, then you need to do what you can to ensure that you stay sober and are happy with your life of sobriety. This is a complicated step in your life, you have already gone to the treatment center, now it's time to step up and do everything on your own to make sure that you are successful. It's not always easy to live a life like this, but you have to do it. You need to make sure that you don't fall back into your addiction.

#1 - Make sure that you eliminate all access to addictive substancesr
It doesn't matter if you were addicted to alcohol, addicted to drugs, or any other type of substance. You need to eliminate your access to all of these items from your home. You should no longer be able to quickly get them. Throw away all of the paraphe
alia that you own, if you have a pipe, or any type of paraphe
alia that you used to do drugs, get rid of it immediately. Throwing away bottles of alcohol and any other type of substance found in your home is very important.

#2 - Make sure that you have a support mechanism in placer
It's very important to have some type of support mechanism in place for you. When you feel like you are going to go back to your addiction and you're going to relapse, you need to have a plan of action. Relapsing is not an option and by having something predetermined for you to do if you have these feelings, you will be less likely to relapse. This could be something like calling up a friend or family member, getting on the Internet and going to a support website, talking with a counselor from Rehab Centers Delray Beach, also known as Treatment For Alcohol Delray Beach, or anything that it takes to get you from relapsing. Relapsing to your addiction is not something that you want to have happen, this would mean that your addiction won and you lost.

#3 - Know what friends are by your side and what friends are notr
You have to own up to the fact that not all of your friends are going to be supportive with your recovery. Some of your friends are going to encourage you to relapse. As difficult as this may be to accept, you need to let these friends go. These are not friends that should be beside you. If they cannot be supportive with your recovery, then they are not benefiting your life. Of course, you cannot ask them to stop drinking, or smoking marijuana, if these are things that they prefer to do and they do not have a problem with them like you did. However, if they respect the fact that you do not want to do these things and you do not want to be surrounded by them, then they're doing the right thing. Sometimes, friends don't behave this way, and those are the friends that you need to recognize and let go.
