As much as it is important to exercise our bodies by gym workout, jogging and swimming, it is just as important to exercise our eyes. Here are some ways on how to get your eyesight better.
1. Sit down and start rubbing your hands together until they become warm. Then close your eyes and cover them with your cupped palms.
Do not pressure to your eyeballs. Do not cover your nose. Do not allow any light ray to enter your eyes by closing gaps between your fingers, edges of your palms and nose.
Though you may see traces of colors, you should ignore them and instead imagine yourself in complete darkness. Inhale slowly and start thinking of any happy incident you can remember.
After 3 minutes, move your palms away from your eyes.
2. Shut your eyes for approximately 3 to 5 seconds. Then open them. After another 3 to 5 seconds, rinse and repeat 7 or 8 times.
3. Get a towel. Soak it either into hot or cold water depending on your comfort level. Then press the towel to your face lightly.
Focus on your eyebrows, closed eyelids, and cheeks for 3 to 4 seconds. Make sure you end doing this with a cold compress.
4. Start rolling your eyes clockwise and counter-clockwise. Then rinse and repeat 5 times while blinking in between each time.
Focus on a distant object about 50 m away for 10 to 15 seconds. Then refocus on something nearer without moving your head. Do this for for another 10 to 15 seconds.
5. Sit about 15 cm from a window. Mark on the glass with a red or black sticker. Through this mark, focus on something far away, before readjusting your focus to the mark.
6. Place a pencil in front of you at arm's length. Then shift your arm slowly to your nose. Follow the pencil with your eyes until you can keep it in focus. Rinse and repeat 10 more times.
7. Turn to the opposite wall and pretend that you are writing with your eyes. Do not turn your head.
Although this may seem difficult at first, it can really be fun with a bit of practice. The bigger the letters, the better the effect.
8. Move your eyes up and down 8 times. Then move left to right another 8 times. But do not not force your eyes further than that. Otherwise you will risk hurting your eyes.
