There is no doubting the importance of WhatsApp. It is one of the most used apps in the world. Being an essential work tool for many, in addition to the main means of communication.

However, there are times when you need peace and don't want to be disturbed, but if you just turn off the internet, you won't be able to use other apps or websites that obviously use the internet.

So, is there a way to go offline on WhatsApp without having to disconnect from the internet? Yes! And we're going to show you on this article how to do it with simple steps using a function of WhatsApp itself, which is the possibility of using a Proxy server.

How to log out of WhatsApp without disconnecting the internet

  1. Open the WhatsApp app on your phone and tap on the three dots in the top right corner of the screen. Then tap Settings.
  2. On the settings screen, tap Network & Internet, and then tap Data & Storage Usage.
  3. On the data and storage usage screen, tap Network Usage, and then tap Proxy Settings.
  4. On the proxy settings screen, select the Manual option and enter an IP address and port of a proxy that doesn't work on WhatsApp. For exemple, we use the IP 1.1.1.1.
  5. Tap Save to apply your changes. Now, WhatsApp will try to connect to the proxy you have set up, but it won't be able to and will go offline.
  6. To get back online on WhatsApp, simply repeat the previous steps and select the None option in the proxy settings.

As WhatsApp allow to use the same account until ten devices, you need to follow the steps in all them, case you use this function.

In other hand, if you are using the WhatsApp Web, it’s not possible to do that on the computer.
