Creating a private website or blog is a good idea as well, and access to the site should be offered to anyone who clicks on any of the marketer's affiliate ads. Private websites also give the marketer a platform to advertise his or her back-end affiliate services or products. Writing Ads Many merchants welcome affiliate marketers who are willing to design and write ads for the merchant's products. This is a wise course of action that will give the affiliate marketer an advantage over other affiliates who are promoting the same products. The Role of Discussion Boards and Chat Rooms It is a good idea to visit chat rooms and participate in discussion boards about the products or services one is promoting. Even if the affiliate marketer has previously ignored them, he or she should begin focusing some attention on such venues, as they offer a chance to promote and advertise products and services in a variety of ways. Free Newsletters Ezines and newsletters are periodicals created for the purpose of promoting a merchant's product without annoying subscribers with pushy sales tactics. For instance, the newsletter itself should feature general information that will be of use to one's customer base. However, at some point within the text a link to the affiliate ad or product should be inserted. This is an excellent marketing tool that should not be overlooked. These tips will help affiliate marketers to increase traffic to their websites, encourage visitors to click through to the merchant's website, and promote the products or services of the merchant through venues other than just a promotional website.
