How to Have a Perfect Day

The secret to having a good day lies in how we start and finish our days - and in being joyful, mindful, playful, kind-full and time-full at the times in between. Here’s how we can have the perfect day each and every day, starting and ending with a little light meditation.
Tip 1: Starting your dayr
Having a perfect day all depends on how you start it. Get off to a good start and the whole of the rest of the day will go like a breeze. Set off badly and we will be pushing water uphill. So if we get out of bed on 'the wrong side', it can affect our days dramatically. If you want to get out of bed 'on the right side', just meditate for 10 or so minutes each day to ensure it goes swimmingly. The best time to do this by far is just as you emerge from sleep and before the events of the day take over.
While it might seem like you are wasting valuable time, this will increase your vitality, reduce stress and make you luckier. All of this saves valuable time and result in you having a much better day and getting more done.
Tip 2: Ditch Your To Do List and Start a To Love Listr
It's said when you love the work you do, you'll never work again. The key to living timefully lies in only doing the things you love. When you do this enough time to do everything you want to do seems to appear just by magic.
Get your current To Do lists together, whether they are on paper or on your computer, your phone or your tablet computer. Next, create a To Love list by transferring them to a blank sheet of paper starting with the ones you would love to do first, in an ideal world, at the top. Then tackle them from the top down.
Tip 3 : Creating an Interruption Barrierr
From time to time, it's natural that we get interrupted. What we might not realise though is that when we think of someone, we pop up in their mind and they think about us. The next thing that happens is that they email us or call us. We end up getting out of the groove.
Before you start a creative task, stare at a spot on the wall, defocus and become aware of the whole room around you while still staring at that spot. Then do five deep in and out breaths, exhaling around four times as long as the in breath. Allow the world in front of you to come back into focus and begin the task in hand.
Tip 4 : Noticing Signsr
Throughout the day, we are bombarded with information. As our minds can only experience one thought at a time, if we are mulling over past conversations or worrying about the future, we can easily miss important information that might help us. If you are looking for guidance, take a walk at break time and again go into a light defocussed, meditative state. Ask for a sign and then think of something completely different, like what you are doing the next weekend. When your thought stream gets interrupted, make a note of what has grabbed your attention. Whatever it is, no matter how odd, will hold a message for you. The message may be metaphorical in nature so reflect upon it a while.
Tip 5 : Perform a Random Act of Kindfulnessr
Random Acts of Kindfulness are massive time savers and just need us to take a minute out each day to be kind to a stranger. When performing them, there are just a few gotchas to bear in mind. They must be random and not pre-meditated. Don’t expect the kindness to come back from the person you bestowed it upon. What happens then, and normally a day or so later when you are least expecting it, something beyond your wildest dreams, that will save you bags of time and effort, will arrive at your door.
Tip 6 : Overcoming Adversityr
From time to time, despite our best efforts, the wheels come off the bus and life gets tough. We feel that the world is out to get us. This is especially true when we get the rug pulled from beneath us two or three times in succession. When adversity of this nature visits our door, the way to tackle it might sound counter-intuitive. Just thank it and ask what it is you have to learn from it. If you can then take no action but to observe events unfolding. The answer will come back from the most unusual source, normally with a day or two.
Tip 7 : Ending Your Dayr
When the day is done and just as you put your head on the pillow, it’s time to set yourself up for a good night’s sleep and for the most fabulous day ahead.
When you are in that lovely state in between waking and sleeping, just go over the events of the day that has just gone and give thanks for all the good things that happened. Then ask for advice and guidance in your dreams for any issues that are worrying you. Just before you drop off, imagine what wonderful happenings might occur the following day to make it the next best day of your life.
