I’ve Done Everything I Can and I’m Still Not Feeling Well!
How To Healn What can you do if you’ve tried everything to feel better and nothing seems to work? To solve physical problems, most people start by consulting a medical doctor, who may run diagnostic tests and refer them to a specialist. Suggested solutions often involve medications or surgery. But, what do you do if the medications or surgery didn’t eliminate the problem? In frustration, people often seek care with chiropractors, acupuncturists, herbalists or healers. What can a person do if after trying numerous healing methods and spending lots of money, nothing seems to work and desperation has set in?
In my experience as a Holistic Health Practitioner, I‘ve discovered not all problems have a simple solution. As human beings, each of us is very complex. What works for one person may not work for another. The key to feeling better is identifying and addressing the individual reasons underlying the problem. Reasons for problems fit into the six basic categories and are very often not restricted to one area, but are interconnected. For example, a physical problem can affect a person emotionally, and vice versa. The six basic categories are: physical, emotional, mental, psychological, psychic, and spiritual.
When a person is feeling unwell, there can be many influencing factors, including his/her thoughts, fears, attitude, religious and personal beliefs, outside influences, and self esteem. Healing involves going deeper than the surface symptoms. Healing progresses when the underlying factors are identified and examined. Through our painful experiences, life offers us opportunities to learn about ourselves and make changes in the way we react to situations, including illness and stress.
Rather than struggling with challenges in life, healing also comes from surrendering to the situation at hand, admitting you’ve done everything in your personal power, and accepting the situation as it is for the moment. This doesn’t mean giving up. It means, turn your problems over to God. I use the word God not in a religious sense, but in a spiritual one. Shift from the physical to the spiritual. Connect with the source of all creation. Ask for help and trust it will come your way. Seek to understand yourself and the lessons life is offering you. These lessons are growth opportunities. You are the expert on yourself. Outside experts like doctors and healers are just helpers to assist you in your healing journey through life. n
