Strategies to Increase Conversions If your goal is to make money online, you need plenty of targeted traffic to sell your products. There are many different ways to get traffic that involve article marketing, forum and blog promotion, paid search advertising, and social media marketing. All of these methods are effective for driving website traffic, and they have one thing in common. They all drive traffic to one particular location, which should be the sales page and not your homepage. Homepage vs Sales Page You may be wondering why you shouldn't direct your advertising traffic to your homepage. That is the doorway to your website isn't it? Well, that may be fine for visitors that find you organically in the search engines, but when you advertise or proactively market your products elsewhere you will need a more focused, targeted approach. A homepage offers too many options and too many distractions to effectively sell individual products and services. For example, you may be a paper supply company that manufactures and distributes hundreds of different types of paper and your homepage is great if someone searches Google for the term "paper supply company". However, if you advertise somewhere on the web a special type of 16pt stock paper then it's more conducive to the sale that you direct them to the product page itself and not the homepage to find their way to that paper product. Your product doesn't have to be a physical product either, it can also be an information product or service. Implementation of this strategy alone will improve conversion rates dramatically. A Landing Page is One Type of Sales Page There are several types of sales pages, but the one that works best for selling products is known as your product landing page. This is where everyone will land once they follow one of the links that you have placed in a pay-per-click campaign, various article directories, social media sites, forums or blogs. As a result, you had better have something pretty significant to say once they land on this page if you plan on making a real online income. Now that you have the attention of all of these website visitors, this is the time to pitch your sales message and get them to purchase your product. Components of a Great Sales Page Make sure that your landing page has all of the things that make a sales page grand. The following are just a few of the things that you will need in your selling process to keep the attention of all of the website visitors that you have attracted from other internet locations. Use them wisely in order to increase your sales conversion rates and get the sales that you have worked so desperately to make: First, make sure that your landing page has snappy headlines that appeal to your targeted market. The very first headline should practically jump out at them and make them want to purchase your product. Second, ensure that your actual content has something powerful to say. Get your point across without using a lot of fluff. Get them to see your point and automatically want to purchase your product. Third, make your landing page interesting with plenty of color and graphics. Insert pictures of the products that you are promoting. Make sure that they represent the product well. People like pictures. In addition, these things add life and texture to your landing page. Fourth, use videos to sell your product. Video engages your visitors using sound, sight and motion in ways that text and static images cant. Last, make sure that your landing page has a very persuasive call to action. Now, that you have all of this new found traffic, you can't just assume that they will know what you want them to do. Make it easy for them to make a sale. Effort Equals Web Conversions All in all, a landing page will not convert well if you do not put in the effort. Ensure that it is worthy of the traffic that you are sending it via your marketing and advertising sources. If you want the traffic to convert, you have to give your target market every reason why they shouldn't leave your site without purchasing your product.
