Although Twitter is considered as one of the most powerful and effective ways to drive traffic to a website, the ugly truth is, not many know how to increase site traffic using Twitter. That's why although many have tried to make money using Twitter, only a few succeed.

As an Internet marketer you can use it to drive a serious amount of traffic to your websites if you know how. With the increased website traffic, you gain more subscribers, leads and chances to convert them into your customers.

So, how to increase site traffic using Twitter?

First, let the whole world know that you are on Twitter

To increase your website traffic using Twitter, of course, you must let everyone in the market knows that you are on Twitter! Easiest way to do this is to include your Twitter URL in your email messages, post blogs and on your websites. That way, everyone will know that you are using Twitter and can follow you if they want to.

Second, tweet only good content - daily, not weekly!

If you want to know how to increase site traffic using Twitter, try tweeting everyday! I am not saying that you must stay on Twitter whole day and tweeting all your time away! Just pick a good time once or twice a day and login.

Believe it or not regularly updating your tweets will help you to get more traffic to your websites. That is the main key on how to increase site traffic using Twitter.

You will also want to make sure that you reply to the tweets addressed to you. This will also get you active and responsive followers. Don't worry if your followers don't become active right away. It may take some time, but they will begin to notice the times that you are more active and after a while they will join in your conversations, which is one of your main goals.

But whatever you do, please remember the fundamental rule about tweeting - make sure 90% of your tweets provides helpful content and limit any promotional sales content to not more than 10%. You don't want your followers to feel that you are "salesy".

At the same time, do not tweet too much of your personal life as well. While some personal tweets are a must to let your followers know you better, too much personal or unrelated tweets will drive your followers away.

After all, nobody wants to know when you are brushing your teeth, taking shower, watching TV, etc. Just keep your tweets focused and provide helpful content of good quality. You'll be able to build good relationships with your followers over time and turn them into lifetime customers for your products or business.

Using Twitter is fun and easy that is why you need to know the right way of doing it if you wanted to know how to increase site traffic using Twitter. Not everyone who uses Twitter as a marketing tool will be successful because it takes time, effort, and patience to see effective results. But if you follow these steps regularly you should see an increase of activity and conversion.
