Proper dental care is very essential for oral hygiene and overall health. It is also the key to your confidence. Improper cleaning technique is the main reason for bad oral health. There are some tips and techniques that you can follow to maintain oral hygiene and to keep the teeth clean and bright. If you follow these tips, you can maintain your teeth healthy and continue to have a beautiful smile for a long time. Regular Cleaning of Teeth: People, especially with oral problem should be very careful while cleaning their teeth. The three main steps in teeth cleaning process include brushing, flossing and rinsing. • Brush Regularly: The dental experts suggest brushing your teeth three times per day i.e. morning, after meals and after dinner or before going to bed. Make sure to use toothbrush with soft bristles as it does not damage your enamel layer or remove it away. • Floss Regularly: Flossing regularly is an effective way to remove any food particles from the surface of the teeth and the gaps between the teeth. It can clean all the grooves of the teeth as well as prevent tooth decay. • Use Fluoride Rinse Method: This method of rinsing helps preventing decay of the tooth and strengthen the outer enamel of the teeth. It can also decrease the hypersensitivity of the dentin layers. Be careful not to swallow the dental rinse. Also don’t take any food before or after using the rinse. Following a Healthy Diet: Proper and healthy diet has an important role in maintaining your oral health along with keeping fitness and overall health of the body. You should always remember to drink plenty of water after eating as it helps to clean the teeth temporarily. Healthy diet helps in taking extra care of your teeth and gums besides keeping the mouth well-lubricated. Avoiding Tobacco, Alcohol and Smoking: Use of tobacco and tobacco-based products can cause major damage to teeth and complete oral tissue. Tobacco powder and its smoke may weaken the teeth by causing stains on them. Chewing tobacco can cause discoloration of teeth that is also responsible for the dangerous oral cancer. Therefore, avoiding tobacco and other tobacco-based products is highly advisable. Alcohol consumption is also dangerous to oral health as it affects the oral organs with many diseases such as irritation of the gums, tongue and oral tissues, increase in tooth decay, increases risk toward periodontal disease and poor healing after dental surgery. Meet a Dentist at Regular Intervals: Now-a-days, finding a good dentist is not a difficult task. It is very essential to have an oral check-up at least every 6 months to make sure that everything is fine with your teeth and oral structures. A normal check-up doesn’t cost much, but at the same time it is very helpful. Once you find a dentist, feel free to ask him your doubts and queries. Make sure he takes sufficient time to properly work on your teeth. The health & hygiene of your teeth depends on how you care for them. Maintaining good dental care is extremely critical and is essential to help you stay away from minor as well as major health diseases.
