While most might think that it is a bit crazy, some would love to live in an RV as they travel the country. They think of the freedom to move about without the constraints of a mortgage or an office job. And while it is possible to live in an RV, there are some issues that must be dealt with before it can become a feasible lifestyle. Read on to learn just how you can live in an RV full time. One of the most appealing aspects of living in an RV for most people is the freedom from house payments. But the truth is that the cost of gas will easily eclipse the cost of a mortgage payment. You also have to worry about repairs, sewage dumping costs, tolls, and so on. And, if you do not own your RV outright, you will also have to make the payment on it as well. This means that living in an RV is likely not going to be cheaper than living in a house or apartment. But if it is the lifestyle that you want to live and you can afford it, you should not let that hold you back. Now that you have an idea of the costs that you will encounter, you will have to figure out a way to pay for them. If you have gobs of money lying around, you will not have to worry about this, but for the rest of us, some source of income is necessary. There are some options for making money on the road thankfully. Getting a telecommuting job is a good option if you are lucky enough to find one. Contract work such as writing and editing are good options for the road warrior. You can also get temp jobs as you move about. Cooking jobs are usually easy to come by, as are temp labor jobs. You could also consider selling trinkets or crafts, but don’t expect to make a bundle off of them. Another source of a small but steady income is a metal detector. While it will be hard to make up the initial cost of the unit quickly, it is a good way to make a few bucks here and there for gas money. A blog or website is another good way to make money on the road, as you can maintain it when you are in range of internet service. Now that you have your sources of income in line, it is time to learn how to actually navigate and find places to park when you are in a city. This can be hard as lots of people will look down on a giant RV parked in front of their house, and businesses will often call the police on RVs parked overnight. There is one exception to this, and that is Walmart and Good Sam parking lots. They do not all allow overnight parking, but most do depending on city laws and as long as you are clean and quiet, most don’t care.
