How to make ethanol: the secrets to making ethanol
Making ethanol is something that has grown in popularity in recent years. If I had to guess, it would be the record for high oil prices doing the job, but that's just my opinion. Much more of those high prices and there will be a number of people making ethanol in their own backyards.
Making ethanol is something that has been done for centuries. Traces of alcohol were found in a ceramic piece that is more than nine thousand years old. It took until 1796 for the ethanol we know today to be created. Johann Tobias Lowitz did this by filtering distilled ethanol through charcoal. Obviously, people have been producing ethanol for quite some time. It wasn't until we kept hearing the words oil shortage over and over again that we finally took steps to try to run it on our engines.
Ethanol is really just illegal alcohol. The same moonlight that was illegal in the days of the ban is now mass produced to power vehicles. I always thought people were joking when they said you could drive a car with moonlight. Turns out they always had the right idea. Those who made illegal alcohol probably didn't know they were actually making ethanol. Actually, the only difference between the moonlight created in the pot stills in the backyard and ethanol is an additive. Without that additive, those who made ethanol would have to pay alcohol taxes on the ethanol they produce. But with an additive, such as gasoline, they are out of the alcoholic beverage category and fall into the gasoline category.
When making ethanol you will basically need two things plus a little bit of knowing how. You will need to have a working alembic and some corn. You can actually use other grains like barley or oats, but many people use corn because of its high abundance. Once you have your alembic, you will need to grind the corn or other grain to make it look like cornmeal. Put the food, along with some enzymes, in your alembic with a little water so that you have what looks like a mixture of diluted cornbread and raise the temperature. When making ethanol, you will need to turn up the heat on your alembic so this mixture is on high heat. https://www.ethanolexchange.net/When the time is ready, the mixture should be removed from the heat and cool completely. This is necessary so that all the elements work together correctly. It will also be necessary to add yeast so that the fermentation can take place completely. You should leave the mash to ferment for forty to fifty hours and stir occasionally. Finally, you will strain the grains, leaving the liquid to be a good alcoholic mixture, ethanol.
