At the end of the day, clients are a vital part of any business or organization – after all, without them you wouldn’t be in operation. Many of our offices, however, are not very client friendly and instead focus on making things as efficient as possible for the big boss. If you work in an industry that involves clients regularly paying your workplace, use the following tips to ensure that your office fitout makes your clients feel as welcome as possible.

• Make the reception area comfortable
  When clients visit your workplace, the first thing that they see is the reception area. It is true that first impressions are often the most important, so your office fitout should focus on making this space feel homely and welcoming. Choose comfortable (yet office appropriate) seating, and add some flowers or potted plants.
• Provide reading materials
  Occasionally, clients will be forced to wait for their appointments or meetings (especially if they decided to arrive early), so you should provide them with something to read, like a book, magazine or a newspaper. You might also like to put your marketing brochures out for client perusal. Make sure that these materials are updated regularly.
• Provide free wifi and entertainment
  If you are using wifi throughout the rest of your workplace, you might like to consider offering free wifi in the reception area. • Organise your workplace
  When new clients are thinking about signing up with you, they may request a tour of your workplace. Whilst there is nothing wrong with ensuring that your workplace flows as smoothly and productively as possible, it should not be the sole focus of your office fitout.
