How to manage morning sickness at your home?

In many cases, morning sickness is one of the toughest parts during pregnancy, which also can be one of the clearly symptoms of pregnancy. It may include ‘nausea or vomiting’ or both! And if you are pregnant, one of great ideas and actions to manage your morning sickness (particularly in your 1st trimester of pregnancy) is home treatment. Home treatment of morning sickness For better result, it is much better to talk with your doctor first before beginning your home treatment. And the following are some common tips to manage your morning sickness at home: (1). Some doctors consider antihistamines, particularly such as dimenhydrinate and doxylamine to relieve morning sickness! But if one of these antihistamines doesn’t work well, you may need to try with vitamin B6. Once again, talk with your doctor first for more detailed information. (2). Another idea is ginger. It can be consumed in a capsule, crystallized form, or even can be grated fresh into warm (hot) water for a cup of tea. (3). To reduce the unfriendly sensation of vomiting or nausea, you can take regularly vitamin B12 and B6 as your doctor advices! (4). Another idea to relieve nausea, you may also try with acupuncture therapy. But in several cases, this idea cannot work successfully for some women. (5). Your doctor may also recommend for you to change ‘how much - when - and what you eat’! Avoid smells and foods that can make you feel to sick easily! During pregnancy, how to minimize nausea & vomiting? Nausea and vomiting are relatively more common in the first trimester. Below are helpful tips to minimize nausea and vomiting: (1). Don’t let your stomach ‘empty’! Always remember to keep food in there but ‘not too much’! You should clearly understand you nausea will be worse if you have an empty stomach. You can try with several small meals for each day during pregnancy (this idea is much better than if you choose 3 large meals every day). (2). Then you can try with crackers or other small snacks before getting out of your bed in the morning. Give a few minutes for your crackers to digest, and then you can get out of your bed slowly! This can be helpful idea for your morning nausea. (3). Don’t forget to drink adequate water every day in order to stay hydrated! You can also eat more fresh fruits to get more fluids for your body. (4). Limit the intake of fatty food or avoid it if you can! Don’t forget also to eat more protein! (5). As mentioned before, avoid smells & foods that can make your body fell nauseated (particularly such as; caffeinated tea, citrus juice, and coffee)! (6). Ask to your doctor first if you want to take iron supplements, because they can make worse your nausea! (7). Avoid fatigue and stress, and don’t forget to get lots of rest! If you have "more than 3 times /day" of vomiting, or you get other severe symptoms of morning sickness, you have to contact your doctor or nurse-midwife immediately to get the right treatments!
