How to manage your business with Social Media

Let’s face it; at least one out of five people you know are on the social media site nowadays. If you want to grow your business to its maximum potential, social media and managing it efficiently is the way to go. Social media gives you the opportunity to profile your business and form relationships with potential customers, partners and service providers. Managing these relationships on these sites is what we call social media management. Why would any business want to manage its social media connectivity? I will highlight just few easy steps and this management can be achieved:
• As an entrepreneur you can use your business profile to form relationships, i.e. Put a face to your business and start building demand for and trust in the services or products you sell.

  • You can use your blogs to look at the existing conversations that are relevant to your business and start interacting. These conversations can also be used to explain your products or services in further detail, highlighting what you offer and your competitors don’t offer.
  • You can also use these platforms to get to know your customers better and get to know what their needs are.
  • To harness potential to generate business

If social media management is used the wrong way, then that can put your business in jeopardy to loose visitors to your site and relatively lose your online presence. “If you make customers unhappy in the physical world, they might each tell 6 friends. If you make customers unhappy on the internet, they each tell 6,000’ a quote by Mr Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder.

If you are not sure that you can commit into fully engaging, conversing with customers or offer them answers as often as your social media management strategy requires, it might be to your best interest to hire a social media specialist. The specialist normally has the skills to research on all the topics that are relevant to your business, check and analyse what the market is saying about your business and give answers and solutions through relevant channels. The social media specialist will usually have the required writing skills to take of your business blogs, making sure that the blogs are updated frequently and written in a professional way. Included in the specialist areas of expertise is website design and management, making sure that your business website content is optimised for search engines, that means ensuring that every search entered by customers that is related to your line of business makes it to the search land page or results. In other words, if you want to generate leads to your website and obtain online presence and existence, hiring a social media specialist might be your answer.

At the end of the day, social media makes it easier for people to listen, engage and converse with each other through these sites. So my fellow entrepreneur, manage your social conversations well and rip the rewards.
