Stress is definitely unavoidable. Its part of our lives and it’s here to stay.

This is a fact that we need to accept. This is one part of our life that we cannot change.

But should we stop there?

Of course not! Because we can actually turn our stress into positive energy that will bring us success.

But before we continue.. let me discuss a little bit what stress is and how it can affect the quality of our lives and the result we produce.

Stress is our body’s way to react to environmental stimulus or any changes that threaten our well being. There are different levels of stress. Low and moderate stress are considered healthy, while extreme stress can be damaging to our health and even physical appearance. It can cause fatigue and increases skin, hair and nail problems. Some of its long term effects are high blood pressure, obesity and heart disease.
Too much stress will also affect our performance and productivity. It will keep us from making wise decisio

Managing high level of stress is very important to avoid all these problems.

Going back, as I have mentioned above, stress is unavoidable, so we should manage stress not by totally avoiding it but working with it.

So How should we do this? How can we work with stress and turn it to energy that will fuel our success?

Being able to manage stress is a behavior that can be learned. Here’s the step that I recommend you should follow to gradually change stress into energy.
1. Change your mindset

Your mindset is one thing that you are totally in control of. You are responsible of your perception and how you respond to everything that happens in your life. If you will decide to change your mindset, you can turn every event into an opportunity. For instance, 2 people with different mindset look into their bank account with the same amount of deposit and respond differently. The person with negative mindset might respond “ Oh no, I only have that much! His level of stress is so high while the person with a positive mindset will say; Wow! I still have lots of money! His level of stress is in moderation because of his positive mindset. This way of thinking will uplift and motivates you and gives you more energy to continue working and achieve more.
2. Breath slowly

When you are in a middle of a very stressful situation, don’t panic. Just pause for a while and breathe slowly. Doing this will relax your mind and body and will help you to think more clearly. You can also do this every morning before you start your day to rejuvenate yourself and regain the energy that you need to get going.
3. Get some fresh air

When your stress is so high and you are about to make a very important decision, One way to turn your stress into energy is to change your environment. Go out for a while and get some fresh air. Doing this will also help you to think clearly. It will allow you to focus more to make better decisions.
4. Avoid unhealthy ways to manage stress

Many people tend to manage their stress using unhealthy behavior like smoking, drinking alcohol or overeating. They believe that these activities make them feel better and remove stress in their lives. They didn’t realize that the effects of this behavior can actually cause more stress in their mind and bodies. All these behavior have a negative effect on our health, aside from the fact that they are also very addictive.
5. Adapt Healthy Lifestyle

Eat right, have physical exercise, get enough sleep and drink plenty of water. These are the healthy activities that you should start doing now to manage stress effectively and to have not only a healthy body but healthy minds as well. Being healthy physically will motivate you and help you to have a more positive attitude and perception.
6. Reach out for support

Don’t think that you should do everything all by yourself. There are people around you who can help you so that you can manage stress effectively and help you make things done or maybe make better decisions. Your loved ones and friends can always help you if you are just willing to ask for their support. If your work is too much to bear, you can ask help from your colleagues or if you are managing your own business you can hire someone so that you can delegate your tasks. You can also get a coach to help you achieve a positive mindset if you are having a hard time with this.

Managing your stress and turning then into something positive is a decision that is all yours to make.
If you want to have a quality life, you need to make a decision now and take control of your life!
